Hello everybody !

It's my turn to host the challenge, and I would be really pleased if you like these pictures enough to work on them. blush.gif

I can't find a particular rule to give, so just work hard, and have fun !

Let's begin by a wonderful "Stavkirke", a wooden church in Norway.

Another pictures from my hollidays in Norway, two wooden troll statues, quite funny aren't they ? tongue.gif
[attachmentid=7873][attachmentid=7874]

I hope some of you like dogs ! If you choose this picture, pay a lot of attention of the contact between these dogs. blush.gif
[attachmentid=7867][attachmentid=7868]

A beautiful lily pad, its leaves and reflection. As you can see, due to bad contrat, it could be difficult to draw it in black and white, why not try it in colour ? rolleyes.gif
[attachmentid=7869][attachmentid=7870]

And the best for the end laugh.gif , this photo has been taken at the sunset, on a really big dune near the Ocean in France (the greatest in Europe). If someone can reproduct the "zen atmosphere" of this picture, I will applause loudly tongue.gif

Have fun !

I like the church and I like the flower. If I have time this week I would love to do a drawing of one of the two. I have two pieces to do before I actually can get to doing it...so hopefully I have time to get into this challenge. Since I've started posting here I've wanted to get into some of the challenges!
SLIM
Here is my contribution, sorry no reflections, this was much harder than I thought.

Good work Slim ! You're right, this flower is quite difficult, and the reflection is harder blush.gif

My little one woke me up so I could not falll back to sleep last night. I did this in 8 minutes with a dull #2 pencil on printer paper. My goal was to sketch it out as fast as I could and keep it simple. Scan is not that great!

Wow, Eric.. That was a great, well spent 8 minutes. Looks like 9 minutes as Brian David told me once. laugh.gif

Great job..

I tried the statue. Close up of the face sort of....

Really good sketch Eric !

Your statue face is amazing Jazzmanian, especially the wooden details. smile.gif

But there is something odd... In the general shapes I think (nose, forehead), because I don't see a troll, but something different, perhaps a statue of Easter Island... no?

Ya I think I may have changed the aspect ratio a bit when sketching the shape. Perhaps made it taller and narrower than I should have. Practice practice..... smile.gif

[attachmentid=7904] I chose the church because I find structures very difficult.... Im pleased with my effort but I need alot of work .
endymion
It's a good draw you've done Buff smile.gif

If I can give you an advice (if you have some time to work on tongue.gif ) : try to draw this church again, really quickly, and sketching just the basic shapes of the different roofs, walls, towers, etc.

When it's ok, you can go to shadows and details. wink.gif

I think everyone has done outstanding work on these images .. the images to work from were a challenge in deed smile.gif
