Stumbled across this site about a week ago when I was looking for drawing tips. I just started drawing about a month ago, getting into doing tattoo's. I did the challenge with the profile of the horses head and this is what it came out like.
This course is pretty interesting so far and full of very helpful tips. THANKS!!

ANY HELPFUL FEEDBACK WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED:)

It's head should be a little smoother but all in all it's wonderful!

Haha,

Mine's not so good but it was my first try so..
I tried very hard but I think I have to practice a little bit more ?

Based on what i've learned in this lesson,

I drawed 2 horses.

Hope it worked out well wink.gif

I did OK. It looks like a horse. laugh.gif I did the snout a little to narrow and possible to long. The hair on the mane was a challenge for me. But she's a cute horse. smile.gif

I tried coloring mine in.

Yes, it looks like he is wearing a toupee. What?! It could happen...

I love it! biggrin.gif How did you color it in.....photoshop....pencil crayons....markers or crayons....please tell!

That member hasn't been around in a few months. Looks like they used some sort of digital art program to color it in. wink.gif

Here is my attempt at the horse head. I felt that I sketched more from the lesson than from the photo. I will try again some time but more from the photo.

I remember my granddad used to draw horses for my brother and me when we were little kids. It never quite looked like a horse, but...

Well, when I tried this lesson I knew it was way above my "skills" at this moment, but I decided to try it and see how it would turn out. Mmm, you can see it is a horse (it isn't a cow, because it has no horns, and it isn't an alligator, because you can't see any teeth, so it must be a horse okay?). But... I exceeded my granddad's drawings and who would ever have thought that.

So I will keep on practicing (and have a lot of fun doing that) and one day I will try this lesson again. And you will see immediately it is a horse, not by elemination biggrin.gif

On average how long is it supose to take to complete per instructional. I know everone will be different but I am just trying to get an idea. I gave this lesson a try and for my first drawling it took about 15 minutes. I am sure if I worked on it longer I might have been more pleased with the outcome. I am assuming that the lesson is just a rough sketch and not actual finish work, again I have a lot to learn and many questions. Thanks for your help I will post my drawling as I am in need of new camera batteries. Thanks for all of your help.

Here's the challenge from the horse head lesson... it was more difficult without the detailed instructions, but I like the result smile.gif

I had a lot of trouble with this one because of the mane. But as a first try and for being a total beginner at drawing, I think it turned out ok.

Well, my first horse, started with drawing a month ago and have come to this lesson.

Lovet,
Congrats, this is a lovely horse. You have a soft, steady hand with your hatching. Stay with it, try some more lessons, you'll surprise yourself how fast you learn! -Mindy wink.gif

Hello everyone. It's really interesting to see all these horses.

First of all I must say the lessons are fantastic and I enjoy to draw of each picture.

Secondly. I noticed the "B10 - Seeing Shapes of a Horse's Head" topic has the most replies in the B threat. It looks like some kind of horse magic that the majority of beginners choose to draw a horse as their first draw.

And at last, there is my drawing of horse:
Shelke
The lesson was majorly helpful.

Hi!
I am one of the new teachers at Drawspace! Since you are asking, I thought I would see if I can answer you question-
First--Your horse doesn't look like a weirdo, he looks quite like a horse!--but you realize something is not quite right, and you are correct in your observation, which means have a good eye for seeing!
Now, take a look at your horse--pretend there is a line going straight down from his left ear. Now do the same for Brenda's horse--do you notice how the left ear of your horse , when you drop the line down, does not cross the same things as Brenda's horse?
Now, do the same thing for the right ear--again, can you see the difference?

As an added point, take your pencil and line it up on the back of your horse's neck---do the same for Brenda's --do you see how the angle of the line of your horse's neck is different than Brenda's?

I've tried not to tell you EXACTLY how they are different, because I would like to see if you can see it yourself--an important foundation of drawing is seeing lines and angles--if you find you need a little more help in seeing it, just let me know, and I will try to help you a bit more!
Good luck!

I definitely had encountered alot of trouble when I was drawing the challenge, it's harder working from an actual photo than a sketch.

I did, however, enjoy the lesson, and will probably try the challenge again later on.

Thank you for this lesson Branda. I'm doing all your classes, step by step and for the first time in my life I can draw something. It's not that wonder but everyone can see that it's a horse. I tried your challenge too, but I gone better when I was seeing your drawings. I really enjoyed to draw. Thank you sharing with us.

Hello from Spain!

First of all i would like to apologize for my poor English, I'm trying to do my best (can you write better than me in Spanish? happy.gif ).
In my humble opinion, this page is awesome, it has a lot of examples and lessons and the learning curve is adjusted properly for my skills.
Those are my first attempts to draw a horse and the results overall aren't that bad, but the front view look a bit like a comic horse (maybe the borderlines are too bold?). I'm not really worried about that 'comic style' because this exercise was about seeing shapes, but you know...

Thanks for reading!
