Please have a look at my gallery
(
http://www.drawspace.com/forums/index.php?...&user=72089 ), especially at my latest uploads in my "Portraits"-Album. Do you think I'm ready to accept commissions? I specially considered drawing children and therefor drum up parents in preschools as costumers.
Please be honest, otherwise it's not helpful.
I speak as a portrait artist who has been accepting commissions for several years, and I see that you are certainly ready to accept commissions. The only thing i suggest you do is ask your self are you satisfied with your work.
I think you will always see room for imporvement regardless how long you practice.

BRB,
I don't think any of us are evr satisfied with our work - when someone else praises it all we can see is that one area that's been bugging us since we started the piece.
But I agree Nuke that you are ready to go - and don't forget its OK to ask for plenty of photos of the subject so that you can get as much detail as you need to give the client what they want.
Hang out your shingle and go get 'em!

Nuke, I think that you could definitely start accepting them based on your work.
One thing though, I do commissioned art as well, and I'll tell you, people WANT paintings. Or at least where I am, they all want paintings.

I love your work .. and if you are getting offers then go with it .. you know we all have a different style and people who buy art also have different styles .. there is room for alot in between so good luck with your commissions.
