Hi all, im new here.

Im from Ireland, im a graphic design student. I suck at drawing so im trying to improve, but tomorow i have a drawing project. Im going to a bizzy shopping center to sketch people in the cafe, for a poster im creating.

Anyone any tips or point me in the right direction for tuts?

it depends on what you want to achieve & how self - conscious you are. If you don't like people watching you create then sit up against a wall so folk can't come up behind & start commenting. Most of these comments are almost always positive though.

Also you have to decide how you want to draw - contour or more detailed.

If I were you I would sit myself in a booth at a cafe and then you have a captive group of models - people sit fairly still quite happily sipping their cuppa & for the price of your own (& a few refills) you have a cosy spot with a great variety of subjects. Start out with a few quick sketches like 1 minute to 3 minute sketches ( makes you loosen up) then do a half hour sketch.

Just my opinion.
