Hi, I have a college project to draw fruit.

I was told to use the star fruit, because its not as boaring as the mango lol.

Has anyone any tips on where to start or what to look for?.

First I would recommend that you draw from life - from a real star fruit.

You need to think about composition. Will it be just the whole fruit or will it be sliced so you can see the inside as well? Think about lighting, which is very important. Try to get some interesting natural lighting when you draw the fruit.

Then simply start by sketching lightly the overall shapes you see that make up the fruit. Add the shapes of the darker values and any cast shadows, then start shading using whatever method you normally use.

Most of all, enjoy the process!

I was told to work from real life. Also iv to do about 20 differ arrangments of the fruit. So alot of cutting and changing around.
