I did something very simular a few years back well about 18 years it was a CIS course and to be quite honest i found it was a complete waste of time.. back then we didnt have any online support or even any help via a phone it was all written letters and took for ages to get a reply or even any work marked ... i dont know what CIS is like now or whether their support has improved but i paid out alot for nothing.. in my opinion if anyone is going to pay out mahoosive amounts of money for lessons like these then make sure they have a good support system where they can offer advice and support within good time of requesting it
well with my one that i do We can email write to my tutor we get commets back from my tutor though email ,written though the post or we have a tape that the tutor has Rec for us persoanly commeting on our work theres no phone call to the tutor though and i went to look on the website last night and they have come up with a Student Area
. Via this page the London Art college students will be able to login to the admin area to upload their assessments and artwork straight to the tutors center. We hope to add many new features to this area over the coming weeks and months so do check back regularly. but it aint for my course as yet as its on trial at the mo! well when i email the collge they email me right back then i do the work it takes about roghly a month to get back to me
well i can say aswell with the Art couses that i have been on that are NON distance learning Ie they dont teach you how to draw and the basics or how to do art at all They Just tell you what to do or just hand out a piace of paper and you just have to get on with it
I know of a artist friend that does art workshops for people and hes had artists that come to him for the lessons that dont know Colour mixing primary and secondary colours and they have done a BA Degree in fine art
could ya give me the website address for the distance learning course that u did in the past?
with the distance learning course that i have they tell you everything from Colour mixing primary and secondary colours Materials needed, perspective, pen and ink drawing, drawing plants and flowers, drawing animals, drawing out of doors, using the photocopier, distinction between pen and pencil, illustrating for children, materials and colour, watercolour techniques and preparation, size and proportion of pictures, composition, landscapes, creativity in painting, oil painting, experiments with style, acrylics and gouache, life drawing, life and movement, male and female comparisons, portraiture, graphic design, poster painting, lettering, book jackets, greetings cards, fashion drawing.
i just find it hard due being a real beginner and its not step by step some bits are not much
