Its the start of a new year and time to review what you've done and how you've grown over the last year.

This thread is a chance to show your best drawing of 2007.

I guess mine would be The Artist's Cat which won Best of Show in an exhibition.

BRB
This is about like asking which one of your kids you like the most. biggrin.gif I'm not sure why but I think I like this one the best. biggrin.gif I think his name is Ali.
Cyn
Although I am not in the same catagory as Burb and Jeanette, (both did incredible drawings), I think I like this one best..
Brian David Dekter
blink.gif Wow Miss Jeanette....I can see why your sketch was a winner......I think it's one of the most beautiful drawings I have ever seen.

I still consider myself a beginner.... especially to you and BRB and I usually hate my own drawings....lol... smile.gif but I kind of like this one because I have been experimenting with different mediums that are very new to me.

Cyn....I love all those clowns you did......they are amazing....I wonder who started all that....lol... smile.gif
purplepaperwing
Wow. Those all are amazing. biggrin.gif

Like Brian David, I consider myself a beginner too, but I think the second painting I did of a piano is my best.
Ernest Friedman-Hill
All of my drawings posted here were done in 2007; it's really hard to pick just one.

Although there are some I think are technically flashier, I think this is my personal favorite:

Beautiful work from everyone, you should all be proud of what you have done and how far you've come in the last year.

Drawing is all about practice and the more you draw and go outside your comfort zones in terms of subjects, techniques and mediums, the better your drawings become.
airscapes
Not a drawing but one of my better paintings, done winter of 2007
11x14 canvas at my wifes request.

Beautifully soft - makes you want to stroke the cat, Jeanette

BRB, that is full of character - just love it.

Wonderful Clown Cyn, he could have just walked off the sawdust of the centre ring - its terrific.

Great parrot Brian, not what I would have expected you to choose, not even a tweety pie lurking in the background tongue.gif

PPW, just love the subtle reflected light in your keyboard, excellent!

This is wonderful Ernest - just have to decide if its a wedding, Deb, or Prom.........mmmmm............

Airscapes, I am going to have to nickname you the Black Knight! Your darks are terrific!

Well there is no prize in guessing that I am proud of my tiger - the title is 'Predator' and it is about 20" x 6" pastel on colourfix - I had to hunt long and hard for tigers with enough eye detail and he is the product of a couple of pics combined in my head:

I think this is what i liked most the past year. Hard to pick a work from a few that i like.

These are all fantastic. I feel a little down because I like to draw mainly cartoon images. It's hard to picke just one but I think it would have to be this; probably because of the Asian element.
Dors
so much excellence here... Great art work for 2007

My choice is a drawing I did of Armin Mersmann... I admire this artist so much.. he is one of the best.

Nair
Venus
biggrin.gif I would have to say that my best one that I did in 2007 would be my Rose.
Judyvan
I pick the pears because it was my first colored pencil class with Jeanette. I have been going crazy with colored pencils ever since. Thanks Jeanette. Your kitty is just stunning. And thanks to all of you wonderful artists and friends who encourage me. Your best of 2007 is inspiring.

Cyn

xicpanad, I love your pic.. I can hardly wait until you start your album so we can see more of your stuff..

"Waiting at the Station" was my favorite because of the pleasure I had drawing it. Have a look at the WIP for details.

The Old Cowboy. Was fun to draw
Jimmer1220
Well since I just started drawing again and taking a break from the computer crap I think this is my best for 07.

Wow, you did a very good job - very realistic!

For 3d modeling this year, I think this one of the Zippo lighter I made would have to be the best.

Incredible drawings!!

As I only drew one picture in 2007 it was easy to pick a favorite or my best work!
Here is my first attempt at drawing a dog. Correction, 2nd attempt. I drew my avatar image in 2006.

[attachmentid=8447]

I hope to draw more in 2008. smile.gif

2 years learning all weekend, many dificults but i love

Thanks

Wow and WOW! Great work going on here!

I have to put in two pieces. This is the year that I did my graphite portrait of Jim and this is also the year that I learned how to use colour pencil.
