Full Version: Drawing from the heart
Drawspace > General > Welcome forum

Since I was a child I've always had a pretty good grasp of drawing (relative to other kids at the time). I left behind the stick figures and can remember drawing pretty realistic looking people in high school. But art was just something I did as doodles on paper.

More recently I've been exploring my creative side. I write lots of poetry on my website (http://www.beyondbee.net) - feel free to check it out. I also got into black and white photography (only a couple samples on my site). Then last summer I took a class in drawing and painting and I remembered how much I enjoyed drawing. Since then I have been trying to find the best way for me to develop my skills step by step. I have checked out other online courses but they often jumped over some detailed steps (shading, blending etc) leaving me feeling a little lost as to how to accomplish things.

This site looks great and after checking out a couple preview lessons I decided to upgrade so I could download everything and print as time goes by. I am looking forward to going through these lessons and am excited about where my skills will reach when I'm done. I'm attaching a scan of a recent drawing (and a photo of what I was drawing) to give everybody an idea of where I'm at now.

Welcome Bianca (small w),

I want to let you know that this site can become very addicting and you may find yourself always thinking about getting back here often throughout your day, just to see what new comments are in the forum, who posted the latest drawing, what language Woo is speaking today. You have a good handle on drawing and your photo rendition is done quite nicely. I think you are definitely in the right spot for improving on those skills. Just get to the area in the lessons you feel most comfortable with as there is no set program, and provide us a copy of your drawing in your gallery. Its really simple, yet the feedback, tips and just plain conversation is really exhilirating.

Again, Welcome!
Eric
