If you're new to this, it's very simple. We make 2.5 x 3.5 inch trading cards, the same size as baseball cards. Each one is a little work of art, in any medium: drawing, painting, sewing, welding... We get ten people to each make nine cards. Everyone mails one card to each person on the list. At the end, we all post pictures of the cards we receive so everyone can enjoy them.

The theme will be Valentine...anything to do with Valentine ..some examples would be Hearts , Chocolate , Ribbon boxes, Cupid ect...you get the idea .

The trade will start Friday Jan. 11th and run until Feb. 14th...I am asking that all cards be sent by a reasonable time to make to it's destination by Feb. 14th . Those of you who may join and live outside the USA will have to allow for mailing time so it could be a crunch on time .

I will start the list with myself ....enjoy and this is a first come first serve to get your name on the list ..repeated traders are welcome

I would be more than happy to join or even help out Kim. If there are alot of people that wish to join before Friday maybe we could split it in half and do two separate trades. Just let me know.

Also, if anyone like me is an ebay shopper, I have noticed that they are now selling blank Canson I believe ACEO cards for making your own ATC's with sleeves included. I thought I would share. The auctions are never much more than $12.00 with buy it now and don't remember exactly on shipping cost.

I am afraid I will have to drop out of this one. I have been asked to travel to Central America to teach an art workshop for victims of abuse. This is really out of my comfort zone, but I will be brave. Maybe I can join the next one.

How did you get involved in something in South America?

Thank you ladies. I will try to make this short. I started a Healing Through Art program to assist victims of violence to find another way to tell their stories and heal. Their art goes on exhibit at a local gallery every April. "Take a Walk in My Shoes" was a stunning and poignant exhibit and many visitors were very touched when they viewed these shoes and the words that went with them. One of those visitors wrote a grant to pay for my travel to Nicaragua through Partners for America. Wisconsin is a their sister state. Partners was developed over 40 years ago to assist developing countries. The non-profit agency where I work is allowing me to get paid while I am there and I have received private donations to cover food and lodging. I hope to take many photos for future drawings. I am very nervous about the whole thing, but I am trying to stay calm and trust that all will be well. I leave on January 23. Keep me in your thoughts.

If so I will scan the last few and post them all (in the thread here) tomorrow - two are still not quite dry. Been raining here off & on and the humidity is slowing down the drying of the cards - for some reason the paint on my palette is drying just as fast as it normally does - wierd huh !?! At least my water tanks are full !

Do post them! I enjoy seeing the other cards as I make mine. I am a little behind you, having completed only one. I've got three or four others in various stages. Inspire us!

They are mostly a flower theme, because I love to get flowers for Valentines, a lot more than chocolate, they are much better for my waist line I am looking forward to getting everyones cards

Bigs, we are getting lots of rain here as well but I bet it's a lot warmer there, it's just at freezing here and cold and gray. I wish I was there I hate the cold. I love your cards, I don't have a favorite this time they are all great.

Hi everyone,

All the valentine's day cards are beautiful.
These are my valentine's day cards. I used watercolored paper (190gsm).Some cards are painted by watercolor and some are used by color pencils. I will send them out tomorrow, so everyone can get on time. First time to try the cards and love it. I think hard part is idea and how to create the cards to be look good.
I have fun and learn a lot. Thanks Kim for the Valentine's day thread.
