I'm new to this website, and about three months new to drawing. I'm hoping to learn a trick or 2 and get a lot better... so hi! Considering I have a lack of a scanner, any drawings i put up will be a picture of them. Any advice for a beginner? Other than that message on everyone else's newbie post that goes:
Welcome to Drawspace! Check out the general forums something something.

Welcome to drawspace etc, etc. laugh.gif
I have been here about a year and all I did was jump in, join some challenges and ask for help. There are a lot of nice people here with a lot of tips and info. It's just fun and is a great way to learn.. The challenges are fun. Someone posts 4 or 5 pictures and you just challenge yourself to draw something out of your own comfort range. No competing, just good experience and fun. Sometimes mine turn out okay and at other times I am embarrased about them but post them anyway for practice.
Oh, and a lot of people use digital cameras instead of scanners, so just make yourself at home.

Welcome!
Tip 1: If you plan on using a digital camera to take photos of your work, purchase an inexpensive tripod if you don't already have one. Of course make sure your camera has the mounting hole before you buy.
Tip 2: Find, read and understand the users manual that came with your digital camera.
Tip 3: After reading said booklet you can now use your digital camera on your new tripod to take good pictures of your art work without using a flash and possilbly utilizing the cameras manual capabilities to over come low light.
Sorry can't draw very well yet so no tips there blush.gif

I personally use a crappy scanner that cant get the color right on any of my work I scan and my digital is just as good so don't worry about the small stuff...LOL. If you need anymore help feel free to contact myself or another mod here at Drawspace and someone will gladly help you.
