Right, I'm planning on opening a new thread for user created tutorials and I need to know who is interested and thinks it is a good idea... or a bad idea. Also for it to work, I obviously need some good tutorials so if anyone would be kind to make one can you please PM me and let me know what you are planning.
There are not many rules to this, only that the tutorial has to be folow-able and the demanstrational images have to be created by you to evliviate and copyright issues (I dont want to drop drawspace in it). The media is anything that you are proficiant in, not just drawing.
I think it will be a great feeling for the members that post tutorials when other people use them and submit the finshed piece and say a thanks. It will make it worthwhile. Also as good as the drawspace lessons are, they can only be so many because of the limited number of people behind them. If members of the forum make tutorials there will be loads and it will attract atention to the site from google searches.
Ok, end of my wittle... thanks for reading and let me know what you think

Jamie, this is a great idea to create a pinned archive of lessons - perhaps if the creators are happy to have you do it there might be some way to pull up old tut's and be able to load only the Tutorial posts.
I for one love tutorials, but find it extremely tedious on dial-up (I have no choice to upgrade) to troll through a great deal of questions and repetitious praise (no matter how deserving the praise is - I don't begrudge it - its just hard to plow through it all). So if there is some way to have the tutorial thread and then a seperate comments thread that would be terrific. If a question is really salient and deserves comment on the tutorial then perhaps the Tute writer can include the question and an answer ( or just the answer) in a post on the tutorial.

I have lots of drawing tutorials that I've created. I'm a new member and unable to post links but just click on my signature and then click on "tutorials" on my site. I've spent a lot of time putting them together so I hope they benefit someone

Glad you like the idea Jamie.
The only type of tutorial / article that I have done is one on another site on how to make a mini watercolour palette for a sketch kit (or just to keep in your pocket ) for when the need arises.
If you would like it here just let me know how, where & when & I can post it.

I would like it

I'll just ask kim if I can make two sticky topics then we can start... one for tutorials and one for the outcomes.

Oops sorry on the gender booboo.. The Flower Avatar didn't help.. perhaps a pic of you or a self portrait or a well you get the idea..
Sue I can only imagine the problems you are going through.. Dial up is like thick Syrup !! I can't imagine ever having to go back to those days. I bet you miss a lot of really great threads having to weed thru the comments..

The worst thing Carol is that if anyone sends a movie clip or You Tube reference it can take more than 30 mins to download.........so I get pretty picky about what I bother to look at.

Jamie the avatar is much better.. my ex's mother named him Bobbie.. He got the same treatment.. When I would make bank deposits for him at the drive up window.. they would say to me.. Thank you Bobbie.. too hard to explain so I would just give them my Southern smile and say your welcome..

LOL, I'm still on dial up too. It's super annoying. Luckily my girlfriend has high speed so whenever I need to download anything big I just go to her house
