Hello All,

I am new to this forum, having had it passed to me by my father, who is a carver. I hope that I can fit in here and gain some new experiences and share my knowledge from over my time drawing...

To start with, I like to dabble in most drawing mediums, except oils (have no patience to watch paint dry) however I LOVE graphic, charcoal and inks. Also, as a draftsperson, I love the built shapes, and like to capture them on paper, from the old run down cabin, to majestic skyscapers. Presently, I am finishing up my equestrian series, and have encountered a (new to me) drawing element, the mixable marker. This Prismacolor marker is a wonderful tool that I happened to see on a show called Overhaulin'. In it the designer draws the vehicles before he rebuilds them, and on one show I happened to see what he used, when out an purchased them, and WOW, I loved them from the start.

I have attached a couple samples here for you to view. This drawing is a private collection, not for resale, so please nobody scream copyright. blush.gif I just love superheros (hey, Im a guy, what can I say?) and these are my two favorites, besides the Dark Knight. It measures about 17" * 22", and is done on vellum paper. I have to finish the legs on Wolverine, mainly cuz my son says it will look better... huh.gif

Anyhow, I hope that you are all doing well, and I welcome your comments.

Cheers.

Paul

Hmmmm, I see that a few people have looked at my post, but noone is responding...have I made an error here?? Have I posted this in the wrong section?? Is noone interested in commenting? Seeing this is a mainly graphite type site (from what I have seen thus far) I will post another pic I have finished. He is called Frisky. I used graphite and charcoal.
I hope this one gains some comments...
Cheers.

Great pictures, welcome to the site, you will have to bear with us as there are so many different time zones. Some people only visit once or twice a week, members are out there only not all at the same time. Wait a few days then you will find a glut of comments all at once, again welcome to the site.

Both your drawings are wonderful. You obviously have the skills to render realistically in illustratively. Lovely work!

And yes, be patient. Sometimes people look but don't always comment, not wanting to be the first. ohmy.gif)

Many times I pop in to see what's going on but don't have time to post or just have time to post a "quickie."

I love horses also & have one that I've had since she was about the size of the one you drew! That is very good, btw.

Also will have to check out your Prismacolor mixable markers! I love new "playtoys!"

Hey, My Bad!!! Yes, that was me poppin' in while at work! OK, you caught me, but I'm like so addicted to this site, Man!! I can't even concentrate at work without getting a peek at the new stuff being posted here. Soon, I'll be hangin' out with the Crack junkies at Starbucks with a laptop gettin' my daily fix. Well, if the Boss would have seen me puttin' words here, and not on his latest HOT HOT HOT memo, I might even be askin' ya for the 4 bucks to get me a Latte'.

I must confess though, I was forced to linger at your post for quite a while to see if I could find a flaw in your drawing. I just needed to really distinguish that it was not a copy from a Comic Book. Well, its safe to say I found the flaw, so you are off the hook. Excellent work, I only wish I could win the Lotto and buy your hands. Oh, and the Prismacolors must also come with the deal.

Yes, as the answer you are seeking, you belong here so make yourself a nest and get posting. Put these things in your gallery so everyone can share and comment on them. There are many more people that just browse the Gallery at this site. Then there are many members joining the Forum everyday as well.

Welcome,
Eric
