This is the last feedback post - I promise! blink.gif

People have asked about themes or areas of drawing they need to practice on so I want to get your feedback on what you would like to draw. Or if there are particular areas that you want to practice and need help with. This experience should be pleasureable and also a learning experience. So look at the topics below and let me know by 6pm Saturday (Newfoundland time) what you want to see in terms of reference material in the drawing challenges. The hosts will then find the most suitable material from their vast stores of photographs! biggrin.gif

The first drawing challenge will be posted on Sunday morning 9am Newfoundland Time. Click here to find out what time that is in your part of the world.

1. Perspective
2. Still life
3. Portraiture
4. Animals
5. Landscape
6. Water
7. Glass

If there are any other areas I have not mentioned please feel free to add them.

I personally would like Perspective and Portraits. I don't think I am good at either of them but hey isn't that what challenges are for. I guess it really doesn't matter. Maybe the Host for each week can just take the topics you listed and decide amongst themselves who wants what and try all of them? I mean because no matter what someone is still gonna have a hard time at something. I can't wait for the first challenge though!!! Sounds like so much fun. Is there gonna be any kind of list on who all are in the Drawing Challenge? I think Everyone who wants to do it should sign a sign up sheet. Or page rather before the first challenge is posted on Sunday. That way I think its fair. Ok enough of my blabbing. tongue.gif

Where the heck is Newfoundland? And how recently was it found? I could make no sense out of the time link cause Newfoundland is not in that list. It is September 28th at 10:34 pm here right now. What is that in Newfoundland? I can figure out the rest with that info. Thanks.

Oh and my vote is for anything. Glass sounds interesting though. Wonder how you do that?
Venus
LOL Calvin,
I figured it out..NewFoundland is St. John's time. So from me it would be an hour and a half time diffrence and for you because I think there is an hour diffrence from Michigan and Kansas it would be 2 1/2 hour diffrence from you. (Brb need to blow my nose).....Ok back..have this nasty cold from weather changes up here. Anyways it took me a few to find it too but I finally figured it out. I guess us blondes can be pretty smart at times.
Calvin
2.5 hours, ok, but which way? Ok now that question was really blond! tongue.gif

what exactly does being a host involve? it involve putting up a Ref picture for people to draw you will be leading a tread on here and supporting people with it

Thanks for the input Venus. I just need an idea of what areas people would like to concentrate on, so tthe hosts can go forward from there in choose appropriate references for people to draw.

I hadn't planned on a sign up sheet, as I think puts pressure on people to perform. Its a 'drop in' thread which people can participate in if they want. They could post drawings in progress if they want assistance from the host or others or simply post their final drawing.

Calvin, Calvin, Calvin. Not knowing where Newfoundland is?? tsk tsk tsk LOL Its on the far eastern coast of Canada. As far east as you can go before dropping off. smile.gif

Calvin, the time would be 6:30am on Sunday for you. That doesn't mean that you have to get up at that time to draw, but it should be there waiting for you when you do get up. Newfoundland is 2.5 hours ahead of you, as going east you gain time.

And yes, Venus, you're right, St. John's is in Newfoundland. If you click on the link I provided, it will give the equivalent time in other cities around the world. Not every city is listed but there should be a city in your state, province, region that you can judge times by. Newfoundland has its own time zone - we're just so special. lol If anyone has a problem figuring out what 9am Newfoundland time is in their region, just PM me and I'll help you figure it out.

3lansir, thanks so much for offering to take a spot. I'll put your name in. I can also take more names in reserve, in case someone changes their mind. If these first challenges are successful, Brenda may let us go ahead with more so we will be looking for a core group of people who will be willing to do this on a regular basis.

Its very straight forward really as UKartist said. You simply provide a reference for people to draw, then monitor the thread, providing encouragement and advice when required. Sorry you're not going to participate as host this time round UKartist. I hope you'll join in the drawing or just comment in the thread.

I am happy to have a go at any of those challenges listed. The time the challenge starts for me is 7.30 Sunday evening.Australian (Perth) time.Goodluck everyone...Lorrir

I think the first thing we should draw is a hat for Brenda to draw from. Get it...LOL tongue.gif

I wanna draw Eric's Speedo! lol Seriously, I could use help with all of it Fabric folds have always given me fits in painting & I'd like a crack at doing some of them.

Also, do watercolor pencils count as a drawing medium? I don't have any regular colored pencils.

I know I should've asked earlier but I was just going thru my supplies & realized that I didn't have a lot in the way of drawing items.

J
Venus
I would think water color pencils would be ok as long as you dont use a brush and water it down until after the challenge. But I am not sure.
IslanderNL
Yes, Venus is correct. You can use watercolour pencils, but just use them dry. This challenge is for drawing skills only. Painting is wholllllllleeeeeeeeee other subject. smile.gif
Venus
LOL I like Islander!!! I seem to be correct a whole lot..LOL wub.gif
