I started setting up my drawing space today. So I went out to the work shop to get my drawing table and found it is damaged. I guess between moving and tornado did it in. I started looking for a new one online today. I found not only do they have ones with white tops they have some with wood grain tops. Is there an advantage to get one or the other? What would you get and why?
Thank you for your comments

I would get the one that suits the decor of the room. Probably white in my case!

Well if that is the only thing to consider it will be wood grain.

I'd make sure that I could sit at it and try it out before I buy.................I think I'd go with white, but because I am a grub it probably wouldn't stay white for too long!

I had one that I didn't use. It was white. White because it was free. Too big for the house and I don't like the little metal shelf on the bottom. cuts into my arm and hand. I work pretty small so it was not suitable for me Now just waiting for someone to buy it and cart away. Guess I should advertise it. lol
Tammy if you were in Bakersfield, I'd give it to you. Isn't that always the way?

The surface for the type of drawing tables that you describe is usually some form of laminate which can be cleaned easily, so it really is down to the design and your personal preference. In most drawings you will be padding your drawing surface with a few sheets of paper anyway, so you won't really notice the colour of the table.
I have a full size professional drafting table which I bought for a steal from an engineering firm that was closing. Its huge! The surface has a protective green cover that acts as a pad for drawing so you're not directly on the hard surface. Depending on your needs, I'd look around and watch the classified ads in your area. There may be bargains to be had there.

I had the same situation as Jeanette. I was actually given a A0 size drawing table from a local technical school. 3 thousand dollar product for free. That was cool.
I can't afford to buy a new table, but if I could I would get one of the ACKWORTH A0 or A1 drafting table. The
site I go to for day to for window shopping is a UK company.
