Yes, I had to experience a few delicacies of ancient Silk Road cities still served in the finest restaurants in Dunhuang.
I simply loved the donkey meat with noodles. tastes like beef but even better. It's a shame there is no way to cook it at home in California.
The camel hump is also a delicacy that came in minced meat patties; tastes similar to horse meat.Maybe sweeter. We fully enjoyed our memorable meal in Dunhuang at The Silk Road hotel's restaurant.
Here are some photos. Also the local wine is very nice with these meats, has a unique bouquet, a fruity flavor.

Kay, guess what? I bought five books of recipes from the varied Chinese cuisine. I can't wait to do new things. Right now I cook only 10 Chinese dishes, eggrols included, as we have several oriental and Chinese markets in our town. What i love most is the fast cooking time and taste of heaven of most dishes together with the fact that is very healthy to eat warm/hot dishes as opposed to cold.

a bunch of us girls get together once a year and go 'out'. last year there was 15 of us. We always go someplace we haven't been, last year it was japanese, the year before india and this year I am praying we do mexican, ( i love and miss the mexican food) but they are thinking more greek this year..I love greek deserts and greek salad, but never had any actual greek cooking. so it should be interesting. after dinner we all go bar hopping, yep even i tie one on, and we have a blast. at the end of the trip we all go home happy and full of fun secrets.. biggrin.gif

I'd like to come along next time. smile.gif

I think Indian and Chinese are my favourite foods. I cook a lot of Indian food at home.

Last year after closing we were all staggering down the road to the motel and this young guy comes running down the sidewalk behind us yelling 'miss! miss!, none of us really knew whose attention he was trying to get, but the whole herd of us stopped and was like 'yes' ..I was thinking someone must have forgotten something, a purse, wallet, well he made his way thru the group and grabbed me and kissed me before i knew what the heck was going on and ran off . I didnt notice him at the bar, so i dont know if that is where he came from or not..He was a college aged boy, so i am thinking he was 'dared' to do it..it was soooo bizzarre biggrin.gif laugh.gif
