I dont know if anyone had a chance to catch the eclipse the other night, but I took a couple pictures and figured I would post them if anyone wanted to see or use them for any type of reference pic down the road. My dad had a heart attack Friday so things are a little hectic right now so I might be away from here for a couple of days.

Jimmers, what camera are you using? I tried but mine came out sucky after 20 something pictures in different settings. I did get a couple I kind of like though, but none came out that good.

1. Is the eclipse through some trees.
2. Is the eclipse almost fully covered.

Thank you for posting these beautiful pics Jimmer and Venus. I waited weeks to see it and then missed it. wacko.gif My grown son that fell, had surgery so I was unavoidably detained. tongue.gif
Absolutely beautiful pics.

Sincere prayers for your dad, Jimmer. Keep us posted.

And the pic through the trees, Venus, for some reason reminds me of the Alkatraz puzzle. laugh.gif

Im using a Kodak Z612 12X zoom 6.1 Meganpixels. I put it on a tripod - zoomed all the way up on it and set the timer so the camera was perfectly still. I tried a few holding it and they came out horrible.

Those are really great pics. My son and I were able to see it and it was so awesome. Hope your dad gets better real soon.
Venus
tongue.gif Well, Jim, then I guess I am just going to have to get a tripod because my camera is is the z812 by kodak, also 12 x optical zoom 8.1 megapixels. Its a sweet camera, but I just got it so I have no clue what settings to use. Luckily, when it wants to co-operate it is ISO, which is Image stablizing of some sort, BUT, it has to be on that setting..LOL, hence the trees that remind Cyn of the Alcatraz puzzle...LOL, and for the branches to come out that perfect with a little of the moon, I know the night vision has to be good, if I learn the camera.

How is your dad doing? Better I hope? wub.gif

you'll see: next week your father will be jumping around again !!!

thanks also for the pics. I had no oportunity to see it in "real" as here in austria it was at something after 4 o'clock in the morning. and it was not THAT interesting to me to get up ... blush.gif
but during dawn (?) I was for a walk with my horse and made a nice photo. unfortunately I had only my mobile-phone-cam. but it looks quite nice! at latest on weekend I will post it.

and again all best wishes to your father !!!

I really think the Tripod is the key - and set it on the 10 second auto picture that way it is perfectly still and I think your pictures will turn out fantastic then! smile.gif
