I have not got a seady hand so I though maybe Squirkling could be worth a try. I would welcome any and all input that may help me. In the past my drawings have not scan so good they look a little nasty. But think that maybe I was drawing to lightly. I am not to good at posting. But I have been reading most at the post.
Here is the pic I am drawing.

This looks fabulous! You seem to have that 'squirkling/circulism' technique down pat.
You could go darker though. If you do a greyscale version of the gun and compare it to your drawing, you'll see that the handle and the ammunition thingy? (sorry don't know much about guns) - the round bit on top next to the handle lol, could be darkened considerably and really make this piece jump out at the viewer.

PeeWee,
Take a good look at Brends's lessons V02: Photorealism - Very Up Close, and V03: Photorealistic Dagger. There are some excellent tips for rendering cold hard steel and polished wood, the same as you have in your drawing. You might find one or all of the techniques there apply to your attempts. It will probably take you some more time to get it all modeled out, but the result as shown in the lessons is out of this world.

Thanks for the replys and advise if I want to learn advise is one thing that I realy need. What little that I know is self taugh. So there is lots of room for impovement. This drawing is a long ways from finshed. But i have learned one thing I have not been going dark enought for scanning my drawings that is part of why they have looked so nasty in the past. Like I said thanks for the comments & advise. I will still be layering more I'm in two this drawing two days now.
nice work ..

Oh, very nice job! I think "push the darks" is some sort of mantra that all artists must hear as we all seem to have problems in that area at some time or another!
