WE all know her, she a chic young lady,a seductive platinum blonde that I want to render in pencil but I never did blonde hair well, let alone platinum blonde.
Maybe along the way you can add your suggestions. So far i used a mechanical pencil.
Guess who she is biggrin.gif .

Took me 2 hours. Not happy with the hair.

This may help. Don't draw the hairs, draw the shades of gray you see in the reference photo.
Note her face is darker than her hair in the front.. you don't have color so bright yellow can be whiter than a tan face

Stop thinking of it as hair. Forget it is make up for 50-180 micron strands of dead cells.. When we look at each other, we do not see individual hairs, we see how the light reflect off of those hairs and a larger masses of shading value.
When you look out at a land scape that contains trees, you do not see each leaf of the tree, you see shapes of shading in the tree. Take a look at Mike Sibley's site, he has some very helpful tutorials on drawing this sort of thing.

Now look at this picture, it is a crop of the front center part of your reference and does not look like hair. The photo you posted is of a low resolution so the crop did not turn out all that clear, but that is ok. It illustrates the point I am trying to make, you don't draw single strands of hair except for those strategic few that are in a position to stand out to the viewer.

Good luck and take your time!

You need to work on your proportions. The top of her head looks a bit flat.

I meant to say that her forehead looks disproportionately small.

Yes this is what was throwing me off as well.
Her the top of her head to the middle of her eye should be almost the same as the middle of the eye to her chin.
I think you are doing very well with this.
ElenaM
hi guys, thanks for the input.I didn't have time to work on this one but is on my list wink.gif
ElenaM
worked on this but the scan is very poor. The shading on the forehead and face was washed away by the scan.

this is a photo of the same drawing.
