I utilize the lessons here as they apply to digital drawing/painting equally well. So, until someone kicks me off, I would like to post my efforts here also. I can't afford to buy art supplies to work in traditional media.(I live on Soc. Sec.). Eventually, maybe I can.
This is my 4th attempt at doing a portrait with a digital drawing program and have some comments: If I were successful at capturing a 'dead-on' likeness, you would know this face; but, alas, it's not there. (he's a cable news anchor) I have yet to really get the unique character needed. The media is the digital simulation of pencil and pastels. ( note: I don't have a 'tablet', so using the mouse...totally non-intuitive drawing motion.)

I added the photo of him for comparison; also he's not a cable news man, he's Bob Herbert..a columnist.

Considering it's done in artweaver, without a graphics tablet, that pretty good!

Looks pretty good, especially using the mouse.

I have tried a couple of Brenda's lessons in MS Paint, with the mouse.
Here is my Emma Emu. I only worked in 100x100 pixels so it wasn't too much problem with using the mouse. It made for an interesting way to learn the lessons she was teaching.
