With all the modern paintings, drawings, sculptures, music and other things people call art, how can you say what is art and what is paint, sound or things?

Spuddy
Exactly like that. Music is called music, painting is called painting, and drawing is called awesome! laugh.gif
I've always seen art as painting/drawing/sculpting/craft, but it seems to mean nearly anything creative.

Well there are all type of art. People can call almost anything art. Art is in the eye of the beholder. If feel something when draw ,paint And feel something in what you see in other poelpes work ect .Or even feel somethingin in what you hear, i would say thats art too you.

This is from a former post of mine on whats a artist ...

well I looked up the word Artist and this is what it says .. I tend to agree with it .

one skilled or versed in learned arts ...now I looked up all words to be correct and skilled means : Having acquired a mastery of something ...mastery meaning :possession or display of great skill or technique b: skill or knowledge that makes one master of a subject :

now I realize that this is at times a touchy subject but my thoughts are not everyone is a artist ...just because you really like to draw or even draw all the time but you can be a artist and draw only cartoons or trees or people there are all kinds of artist ...I think if you love to draw then dont get hung up on all the other stuff ...just enjoy yourself .

when you look up just art you get this :

skill acquired by experience, study, or observation.

I do not see art in every drawing I look at ...sometimes I just see a drawing ...its complicated and controversal for some to even talk about ...smile.gif
