Hi all,

Welcome to Snoopy 101 Dr. Seuss Challenge...my name is Brian David your host.....although I am no expert on this...


With out a doubt Theodore Seuss Geisel is one of my favorite artists of all time. Born March 2, 1904 better known to most of us as the great Dr.Seuss. Mother Henrietta Seuss Geisel often soothed her children to sleep with chanting rhymes from her childhood, and often would credit his mother for the desire to create rhymes for which he became so well known in many of his children's books. How the Grinch stole Christmas, Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat in the Hat, are just a few of his books which became staples for many parents and children around the globe. I always admired his sketchy drawing style and ability to create those zany and outlandish creatures and his rhyming text that became some of his well known trademarks. Many of his books have also adapted to popular feature films such as The Cat in the hat and Horton Hears a Who.

My Challenge

If Dr. Seuss was still around what might be his very next character he might create??? only now you draw and create it....add your own rhyming text in addition to this if you like...I find this a great way to create and use our imagination...and for those who would like to draw some of the classic Dr. Seuss please feel free to do so..Please no use of computer graphics.... however you may use your computer for text or coloring if you wish.... please post your original drawing first.



Hope you all enjoy this challenge...inspired by my dear friend Cyn. and is a tribute to the late beloved Dr. Seuss.

here are a few references drawn by Dr.Seuss if any one would like to draw one. The first is Cat in the hat, the second is called Hop on pop and the third I believe is the Lorax.

I decided to try Dr.Seuss's version......the first sketched in ink and prisma marker and the second same drawing with added color from photo shop.

Thanks for your kind words Kaly with all those creatures Seuss created he just might of came out with a frog.....but I don't think he would have been as cute as yours especially with his body board....and he looks very happy....I really love this Kaly once again you put a smile on my face.




Hi oliverandjazz great to see you join this challenge .....great drawing of Sam with his green eggs and ham.....my Dad used to tell me he would feed me those green eggs when I was a kid...


I have been ill the past few days so I just could not get into drawing much... but tried a quick sketch of hop on pop..

Frogs and pigs are my favourite animals, you just cant be sad around them.

As for bears, they terrify me – rather do Eskimo kisses with a shark

I decided to try my very own Cyn Kid riding a Seuss animal.....sketched in ink and prisma marker.

Holy cow, Lance.. You make me laugh so hard. GREAT drawing.

Brian, I love the cyn-kid on the animal.. I even tried to ride an ostrich once.
Now, that is a tough thing to hang on to.

Cyn Kid rides ostrich... I will do any thing to get Cyn's attention..

Hey Brian, it looks to me that he has just pushed for the elevator. He may be taking Cyn home. Hope we going to have more pictures of their journey back to Idaho?

Kaly and Lance are right Brian; you don't have any problem getting Cyn atention at all, and seeing that journey back to Idaho would be fun.
