Hey guys!

Wow, I haven't been here for a lot time, but I am glad to be back!

Say, when I start a drawing, I want to draw first an oval shape for the shape of the head.
now, where comes my problem? I tell ya, my problem is STUPID AS IT MAY SOUND, when I come to divide the shape, I don't know if I am doing it right for the place of the eyes blink.gif If I have X size of the head and I want to start divide the line for the eyes.. I just need help to understand it sad.gif

Take care,
Sarit.

Eyes are always roughly half way down the head. In that drawing, I'd say they needed to be a little bit lower. The gap between the eyes is said to be the size of one eye, so I suppose you could pick an equal distance from the centre line, measure the total size of it, and draw the eyes that size if you get what I mean

But it doesn't have to be completely accurate - everyone is different, so a small 'mistake' will go unnoticed

Brenda also has some lessons on this. Lesson H01 in the Beginner section is one on proportions for an adult and if you look on the rest of the drawing lessons page, you'll find more.

Here is the link to the lesson J-Lynn mentioned:

Looks like the eyes fall right on the line that divides the face. That would be the line half way between the top of the head and the chin. But I will bet that not every person is eactly like this. Might want to look at a bunch of pictures on the net of faces and measure them to see how close this really is.

Hey guys! thanks a lot for your great answers smile.gif

Also today, I tried to understand how to draw it, and also I saw the clip about drawing faces and guess what?
I still don't know how this line in the middle of the face can actually helping me sorry jeje biggrin.gif

Well, yes, this line divides the face into 2 parts, but then.. am I suppose to draw on this line.. a symmetrical eye (If it is like that, so yes.. the others eyes will be in the same width). blush.gif

Guys, would you mind to show me an example by using a drawing you made? if it's not a lot concern I will be really happy:)

Just want to add, I may never get the right shape for the head, so I don't know why I want to use this line anyway blink.gif

Thanks for reading,
Sarit.
