Hi all,
welcome to Snoopy 101 Lion King challenge my name is Brian David your host and curator of Snoopy 101. Although I am no expert on this.....
The Lion King
Released in 1994 by Walt Disney is said to be the highest grossing 2D animated musical film of all time. It won two academy awards for its music achievement and a golden globe award for best motion picture. The storey takes place in the Pride Lands, where a lion rules over the other animals as King. The characters include Simba, Scar, Mufasa, Banzai and Ed, Nala, Tim and Pumbaa, Rafiki, Zazu, Shenzie, Saribi, and Sarafini.
Sir Elton John and Tim Rice wrote five original songs for the film with Elton himself performing " Can you feel the love tonight". Due to the Lion Kings popularity it is said to have an impact on popular culture and has been referenced in a variety of media. The great success of the film also led to many sequels and spin-offs.
My Challenge
Simply draw one of the references I have provided below by the original illustrator's, or use any reference you wish. You may use any type of media you like but please no computer graphics, all drawings must be hand drawn. You may use your computer for text or color from programs such as photo-shop but please post your original drawing first.
Hope you all enjoy this challenge,
happy drawings,
Brian.

Oh I have 2 drawings of Simba! They aren't one of those references but that's ok I just have to figure out how to crop it because it was for the cats ATC and I don't have photoshop anymore so I'm not sure what to use.

Brian, my friend
I am so sorry that i have been away for soooo long but life has really taken over my drawing at the moment but i just happened to be passing and saw your challenge.
I drew this picture on a single bed sheet and used this to drape over my daughters pony, for the Halloween show. The pony's name is Simba so i thought it quite fitting. My daughter was dressed as timone and one of her friends was dressed as pumba, just like the drawing. She got second place so it was all worth it. Anyway i thought i would share it with you as it is your challenge.
As i say i haven't forgotten about you all and i am doing little sketches here and there but nothing worth merit or posting on here, but watch this space.....

Hi Martin, great surprise to see you my friend! thanks for stopping in , what a awesome drawing you did for your daughter, that must have been very challenging to draw on a bed sheet. It seems your drawing is in bmp file so I took the liberty of converting the file to jpeg so others can view it more easily. Your one of my favorite cartoonists Martin, thanks for sharing this.
picture belongs to Martin.

Ah Brian your words are far too kind but very well appreciated, thank you.
Thanks for the conversion as well, as i say it has been so long since i was last doing this that i seemed to forget how!
If i can just get through the next couple of months i should be back into my proper drawing by then but i do keep stopping by now and again.
Take care friend, talk soon

I draw my Lion King in ink and brush. For backround used watercolours. Anyway, funny thing happened with this. I used regular paper, not for aquarelles and when I coloured the backround, I had to dry it fast. I couldn't find paper tissue fast enough and used toilet paper. Unfortunately the toilet paper was with flowers. Now my backround is in flowers too.
