Hi, I've been familiar with Brenda's work and websites for about five years. After taking a few college drawing classes, I've been feeling the need to draw more often and thought this web site/forum would be a great motivation.

I am a children's art teacher. Currently, I work for Young Rembrandts, a great after-school children's drawing program. About 4 years ago, I owned a Monart (Mona Brooke's Drawing With Children, etc.) Drawing School. I have also taught children's art privately and in the public schools. Right now, I am working on a website devoted to art for children (resources, how-to, where to buy supplies and books, etc.)

Someday, before I die, I would like to illustrate my own children's book, but so far, I don't seem to have the discipline and focus to carry it through. I would also like to become a better painter and plan on taking some oil painting classes at the local community college in the spring.

My favorite drawing medium is colored pencil.

Anyway, I look forward to trying some of the challenges, doing some of the lessons, and looking at everyone's art work.

Eric
Welcome Cindy,

I too lived in your area about seven years ago in Maryland Heights, so I know the St. Charles area well. Also we have another member who recently joined from that area too. Wow, such a small world. I miss Krieger's Sports Bar. Anyway, enough reminiscing (sp) and glad to see you coming on board with us. I looked through your gallery the other day and must say that you have quite a large amount of skill already. It won't take you long to polish that up. There are many beginners here as well as some professionally competent artists to create a mix of members that screams creativity.

I hope you find everything you need, and don't be afraid to ask questions that you may have. The answers may come pouring in like Jazzy and her rocks. I am also hosting the second Drawing Challenge and you might try your hand at submitting one of the ref drawings, or better yet, do all three. You still have plenty of time left.

Make yourself at home here, I have.
Eric
