Hi people,
I'm new here...
My Name is Mei-ling, um.. im from Taiwan. And I'm 17 years old.
I just registered in Drawspace, hoping to improve my drawing skills.
I'm planning to take fine arts after i graduate next year.
I'm more comfortable in abstract surrealism.

And I'm a self-taught artist. I know there is more to learn than to my recent knowledge towards art.
Thank you for the free tutorial ^____________^

Well this is the first time I have done this type of thing. I want to learn more about drawing due to some life changing events in my life I think I am ready to try. I am scared that I will fail and never try again due to the fact my drawing is very basic and show no depth. So I thought by joining a group I might find the passion for art I lost years ago. So I hope this is great as it looks

Hey. I am the latest newcomer. My name is Sherry Venegas and my user name is paperfacets almost everywhere. I have just decided to learn how to draw. The little I learned 45 yrs ago in high school has stayed with me a bit. I am going to go slow and will start at the very first lesson.

Hello, Everyone! I joined at the beginning of the year, but in my usual ADD fashion, I promptly forgot. After a while, I began to ask myself what were these "Drawspace" messages in my mailbox. So TODAY I opened them up and said, "What a great idea! I better get involved.". Hence, my post. Anyway, I hope to do a better job of keeping with this place and being a contributor.
I come to art late in life, having first homeschooled my children through high school and working at home as a medical transcriptionist. Jobs are drying up, going overseas; and my joints are NOT cooperating with me any longer. I always loved coloring (as in coloring books) and computers, so I thought it would be great to explore graphics. Started at Art Institute of Philadelphia but their concentrated classes and young classmates made me feel like a fish out of water. My health went south. I took a year off and now anticipate beginning again at the local community college, where the average student is 35 years old and has real-world issues.

How are ye? Well I used to draw, was told I was good at it etc. but during college I lost it. I sat down this evening to try and draw from an album cover and it just looked silly. I got frustrated and threw it away... Hope this place re-kindles my love of drawing.

Hello Everybody!
My name is Jeile and I'm from Germany, so I really hope that I get everything you're saying, and that everyone understands me. (Well, my english marks are good, but you'll never know...
) I found this site accidently while surfing on the net, and was really looking forward for the courses and the board, so I was signing up. Badly, here in Germany are only a few Art sites to upload your stuff and getting comments, and those sites are often flooded with little, hateful emo kids, but this site was looking nice, so I'll test it here
I was drawing mainly in the manga style, but I never felt like this is what I really want, so I'm trying to enchance it to a more Fantasy style with more realistic features. I really hope I won't get discriminated against because of the manga style, I never was one of those hyper-active kids anyway.
Ohh, I'm talking too much, so I'm just saying "Hi" again!

Hello every one, my name is Gregg, as you can see.

I'm new to drawspace an also to drawing. I've alwayes loved art but never had the guts to give it a serious try myself. I've recentley found myself far from home and with a better understanding of courage, so here I am. I stumbled on this web site and decided to give it a try. It has realy been a God send. For the first time in years, I am getting back to my artistic side. The lessons here are so efficiently laid out that even I can follow without becoming discouraged. I am dabbeling right know but can't wait for some supplies to reach me so can give it a more proper go. This site may just save my sanity.

A hearty hallo from me.
I come from Germany and I am 33 years old.
Am glad, that I found this site with such wunderful an detailed lessons and instruction.
Great compliment to the artist!
Short things to me:
I have been paiting and drawing since I was a lil girl.
My sister often painted with me and she was able to do much better.
But I have no talent and never have beeing got later.
But I never forget it. I again and again tried to make effords and wanted to paint and draw
like others.
I read various books about it but finally forgot it for years.
Nearly 3 years ago I saw a painter/artist on tv and the technique of him did faszinate me.
I watched a lot of lessons and tried to learn.
Fortunately, finally a technique like made extra for me, I thought.
This was made for me, a person, who is very inpatient.
So I could get over the last years much efforts.
Hope we all will have fun here together.
Best wishes....
(Happy painting and God bless my friends!)

Hello,
My name is John and I am new here.
I took some time to look around and WOW what a great place.
I am very new at drawling and very impressed with what I have seen here.
I don't know if I will be able to keep up at all with all of this talent that I have seen.
I sure hope that speed isn't that important here because I do lack that.
I have my coffee and my new pencils and paper and can't wait to drawl.

I don't draw as much as I'd like to. My 1-year-old boy throws a real tantrum the moment he sees a pencil & paper in my hands. I don't usually have the luxury of drawing in a relaxed environment...
Normally I'd be working on the lessons here at Drawspace, but at the moment all my efforts are going towards the current Art Card Trade "Crazy Cats". I finish a 2.5" x 3.5" card every other day.
