Hello my name is Philip and I accidently ran into this site looking for info on how to do perspective drawings. I've been casually drawing since my teen years, but never really was that good at perspective drawing as I'd like to be. I'm Michelle Alves, student, aspiring journalist and local crazy person. Drawing came to me after being left alone at home while my parents were at work at a young age Since then I haven't been able to stop. I'm not great, never took a lesson... I ran into this website while looking for some advice on shading. I draw okay but my shading ruins everything! Maybe its because I lack patience!

Hello Michelle, welcome to Drawspace! From the looks of the portraits in your gallery, you're doing very well with drawing already. But when you have time, try some of the lessons offered here, they really do help with drawing fur, water, all sorts of things. I didn't mean to offend you with the comment I left about your drawing looking blurry, it's just difficult to evaluate the full beauty of a piece when the uploaded photo doesn't match the quality of the original drawing. From what I can see, though, your artwork looks great!

I joined you actually last year I believe but I did not post many times if at all. I had been looking for "learn how to draw" sites when I came across this forum and I joined. I would like to learn how to draw. Back in the 60s I took an art course, but I didn't get a chance to complete it. I am interested in learning how to draw dogs and also some people. Right now I am looking for free lessons on how to draw. I would like to start at the beginning since I did not keep up with my drawing and so I have forgotten a lot.

On my search for a film about practicing see/drawing like Frederick Franck teaches I found this site instead. I'm looking around with my ears and eyes pointed forward and a big smile on my face. Reason for me to join this family.

English is not my home language so forgive me for making mistakes and please ask me what I mean when you don't understand me.

I am a manus of everything interested in almost anything.
On my page you can see the result of that.
It's great fun working with all those different materials each with their own possibility's and impossibility's. Strange enough I often balance on the edge of the impossibility. I guess thats who I am.
Expanding my skills is one of the things I can do to move the borders of the impossible. And for the rest, its up to the materials I use.
It seems to me there is plenty to learn on this site for me.

You have noticed that my gallery is not existing out of drawings only. I can assure you that, however some of the works I show there are not drawings, most of them really start with a drawing.

It's a joy to join a family so full of artists of all kind. You all are all so inspiring to put your shoulders under the work to create new things, I love that. I guess we all need a little push or some advise so now and then, I do anyway.
I have this little booklet what I carry around. It's filled with artistic thoughts. Things I want to make, plane as well as sculpture. I really hope that I will be able to mark those ideas as "done" soon, and I think that joining you all will be a good step forwards in that.

Welcome in the family. Yesterday I found out I made a wrong start, hereby I want to appologise to al users for that.
I'll give you some advice so you don't have to make the same mistake.
If you go to "Forums" than on to "Welcome forum" the fourth link gives you important information about how to make your gallery.
I hope to see some work of you soon.
Then I would like to invite you to join us at the challenge of the week. There is really nice photograpes to draw this week and there is still plenty of time for this weeks challenge.

I've found this site thru digging site, looking for online drawing lessons.
I started amateur drawings for my little son about year ago and I found that process of drawing enjoys me very much.
Though, lack of any clues, how to properly draw and what I'm doing wrong, my urge for improvement brought me here.
I'm happy that I can learn basics and improve, thank you.
Soon I will post my gallery, I hope for your opinions, sincere.
I'm not english language native, please forgive me bad english writing, however, I think it's at least easy understandable
