Well, all of you who know me know I have been doing art for well over the past year or more. I joined the CPSA last November and have been active in joining our art shows juried and not juried. Well, this past month of April we had an exhibit in Northville, Michigan for all of Michigan colored pencil artist to join. I had two pieces that were accepted out of three. There was a judge that came in and picked a first, second, third and honorable mention for the artwork displayed, as well as four merit awards and of course I was not picked for any of that but I did however find out today, (after having a DEAD cell phone for 3 days) that one of my pictures I had exhibited SOLD!!! I am not sure at the moment which one it was. The two I had that were accepted were the "Victorian Tea Time" my teacup picture and my "Nature's Beauty Drops" the rose with the water droplets on it.

It's kind of a funny story because after I listened to my messages, one of the members from the CPSA Chapter I am friends with calls and says she is trying to reach me because I still hadn't picked up my picture from the Art Gallery and she had bought one and the other needed to be picked up. Well, at first half listening like I always do, LOL, I thought she meant she grabbed one but not the other, so I relistened to the message 2 more times until I realized she said she bought one and I needed to pick up the other..LOL.

Anyways, this is my first real success story with any of my artwork so I thought i would share it. As soon as I find out which picture sold I will post it and tell everyone which one it was. This was also the first Art Gallery I have ever had a picture displayed at and my second art show I entered. So to me this is a really big success even though it was another member that bought it. She must of deemed it worthy at some extent..LOL

Venus ...what have I been telling you ....you do beautiful work and some one will see it ... it dosent have to be judges that say its great work I am soooo very proud of you hun .

That is so exciting, Venus. It is a good feeling just to show your work in a Gallery but to actually sell one is GREAT! Congratulations!

Thanks you all!! You know it's you guys being my support that keeps me wanting to do my art and I really appreciate all of you and the wonderful advice you all give. As for which one sold, it was the rose which I titled "Nature's Beauty Drops". I think I had it priced at $150 and the gallery keeps 30% so I made $105 at least!! I never would have guessed I could sell a drawing for that much. I mean to some it doesn't sound like a lot of money but to a stay at home mom, that's quite a bit when your family lives off of one income. I also had the pleasure of talking to the woman that bought it and she said she bought it for her quest bedroom and it looks perfect in there. So here is the one that sold....

Oh Venus, if I was with you now we could jump up and down together. But, I am not surprised at all for I have always thought you were very talented.
