If it wasn?t for the View Last 25 Posts option while in the gallery I would have missed one of Bobs (BRB) portraits that he posted today which would have been a shame since I get a lot of enjoyment from them.

Some people seem to want to upload their entire personal gallery to drawspace in one foul swoop which is pushing single posts from view before we have had chance to see them.

Is there nothing that can be done about this, I find it so frustrating
Nathalie Renaud
I fully agree with you Lance.

However, I remember entering the gallery and posting all I had, which was not a lot at that time, without even knowing, or understanding the effect. I would have understood if there had been a limit (and an explanation) of one post per day. This limit should be added to the site. Could an administrator acknowledge reading this and responding to it?

To me it's a real experience of the artist's profile and glad to meet new talents on drawspace.People are just building their albums and it's good to give a chance to new members to show off their work especially when is so skilled as that of Selo.

Hi lance,

I think your comments are relevent ,i am a member of a number of other sites that only allow a maximum of two pieces of artwork to be uploaded each day. This system allows others the chance to also upload their work, without the site being dominated by a single artist.

i agree.....i also uploaded all my older art works and my newer ones as i go..i have family far away...i like them to be able to view my gallery..and i love seeing my own progress...ONE a day..sheesh..i draw more than that in a day..i think that would really be a little harsh..and there is that view last 25 post thing so that is good, maybe they can put a link where you can subscribe to your favorite artist and be notified when they post something new..as for me...i love seeing everyones artwork...all of it..dont care if they do it all at once or one drib and drab at a time

not to mention..BRB does have his own site

I too tend to agree with the OP, I think some kind of limit would be a good idea........though more in the region of 5 a day.

Also I?d like (it may in fact be possible) to be able to upload into my album without posting it in the gallery.....I've a few early pictures which I'd like online to share with friends and family......but seems a waste to put them in the main gallery and push other work off

Actually, wayneo mentioned two submissions. My point is exactly what you said, I also love seeing everyones artwork. My suggestion would be to post all of your work into your own gallery without them being submitted to the main gallery. Whereas then you could just post one or two and if people were interested they could visit that personal gallery.

I also complete a few drawings and paintings in a day which include challenges and cartoons but choose not to upload them all so others can have a chance

yes i agree with that as well..i posted my old artwork and would have preferred to NOT have them in the gallery, just for my viewing and those who choose..perhaps the admins will come up with something like that..

good idea..

I'm sorry to say but what this has to happen when a non Western artist comes to the drawspwace and posts a few works of his own ? It happens a lot with Anglo people and nobody protested. I even remarked the other day a person who put a lot of unskilled work some even with adult content and nobody raised the issue in the forum. It happend now when a Turk "inundated" us with his beautiful drawings.I find this very sad!Hope is my perception and not the reality. It would be real sad!Besides how are we going to know who posted what if this is a private album thing?

generally I like this site. May be there must be limit, but this subject mind be drawspace own.
But could be this, I want success and comments etc. Why, if I have mistakes I want to see them. Who knows a lot of things about art from me, can write about it. blush.gif
( sorry not enough english, I hope you are understanding wacko.gif )

I totaly agree that we should only be alowd to post 2 per day.

This subject has been brought up recently : http://www.drawspace.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4053

What I do now is: I know my favorite artists and now and then I check their gallery, that way I won't loose track of their work.
But allso, there are always new artists coming in, so I think that doesn't solve the problem completly, I will still miss plenty of nice work that might posted.
BRB
I belong to a website where only one thumbnail is visable when a visitor views a member's galleries. Once the visitor clicks on the one thumbnail they can see thumbnails of the entire gallery and leave comments. The problem of Inudation could easily be solved it the Member's Gallery was only an alphabetically arranged collection of thurmbnails that linked to each member's personal gallery.

Each member could choose the picture that they think represents the contents of their gallery.

Then a new member could post as many works as they like in one day in their private gallery.

There could also be a "New Posts" gallery that has a limit of one (or whatever) per day. These new posts could also be linked to the member's main collection of galleries.

I have not been speaking of any one artist who has posted their work. And I hope it is not thought that I have preference to the global location, creed or skin colour of any person. I surely hope I have misunderstood what you have said, and if that is so then I apologise.

Maybe this thread wasnt such a good idea sad.gif

ElenaM
I would apologize too, if you have opened the thread if let's say Bobby had posted 15 portraits in one batch.

Lance was not refering to anyone in particular, as far as I understood!! and he is not the first one to bring this up, as I have said before.
Why do you think that some here would discriminate others?? I think everyone around here is very nice to each others, in fact this is all about art, and art has no color no religion no politic side...just art.
Besides we do know some people don't realize that when posting allot of pictures at once will take away the change of others to be on the gallery for a while, It happened to me to in the first few days, then I realized how it all worked so now I try to be more moderated. So nobody is blaming the members, we are just sugesting this could work somehow diferently

I just went to the gallery now, and ther were 4 images of the same member, so I opened his gallery and guess what this member joined today and already has 19 posts in his gallery. Do you think He realised that?of course not.

These are all points well met and taken. I am unaware at present of any limitation though I belong to places elsewhere that put limits or randomly draw from all new posts made by everyone in the membership. I believe greater things are in the wind, so my sails are out.

be well
