It's making me so depressed, every time I start to draw, I just give up as soon as the pencil touches the paper... I have no ideas for poses, backgrounds, facial expressions, nothing. I'm at my wit's end.

try using reference photos or objects that are around you happy.gif

if you don't know where to find reference photos try:
-drawspace weekly challenges > this week's challenge
-google biggrin.gif
-deviantART
-your computer smile.gif

Hey - just join all of us in drawing the Challenge pictures of the week (under General Discussion - Weekly Challenge). It will keep you drawing and maybe even inspire you to create your own works. Sometimes, it's even just fun to crop one of the pictures posted to change it somewhat - that could inspire new things. Then post it and enjoy all of the feedback from drawspace members. It's great to see new art; even just technical art.

Hi, that happens to me too allot, Try doing what Hellen and bkluver said. The chellenges are great, in the begining I was afraid to join them, I though I would't be good enough and make a fool of myself, but what happened was the oposit, it's fun, you learn more and more and you don't have to think of what you have to draw, just pick a challenge and do it!! all the rest will start comming naturely.
best luck

I just paint any old thing and see what happens. It's irritating sometimes because the kernal of a good painting gets lost in the welter of different ideas. The tree in the middle right of this doodling board is one of the best I've painted and I would have loved to have it in a forest or orchard of like trees but can't reproduce it. It did however get me past my block.

We all go through slumps where creativity fades for awhile. So wallow in in a little, take on small projects, sketch, go to museums and art galleries, read art magazines, look at other artist's work.

Inspiration will come back to you again, I promise.
