Hi
I'm Trine from Norway. I am 41 and waited untill after 40 before I started to explore any creative sides of me. I still can not draw but hopefully I will build up some skills over the next 6 months. I plan on using what I learn here while painting as well.
See you
Trine

Welcome to Drawspace Trine. You're not alone. THere are lots of people who start art later in life or restart it again after an absence from drawing.
Work your way through some of Brenda's drawings, post your work, ask questions, practice, practice, practice and you'll get there. You need to develop your drawing skills before you can paint. Drawing is the backbone of painting and will help you enormously.
I hope you enjoy the forum.

Wow, Trine you didn't wait long at all. Once you get to know some of the others here, you will see that you are only a younster just starting out. So, feel right at home and get working on that lifelong dream you always wanted. Its going to be a lot of work, but thankfully not hard.
We are all here to help you get through the troublesome spots. So drop that age thing, cause you got a lot of personal memories stored in that giant computer you call a head that are just dying to get out on paper.
Do the lessons, join in the challenges, but any way you can, continue to draw and you will be making your own art in no time flat.
Welcome to the family,
Eric

40's isn't old, I just retired at 78 from making my living from one form of art or another. But been a horrible drawer. My hands are getting restless at doing nothing so figured i still had time to learn to draw and improve starting NOW. I'll be watching for your improvements, Enjoy and good luck youngsters.

[attachmentid=3110]Thank you so much all of you. I really appreciated all your nice words. Life has been totally carzy since I began this journey into art last year and today I do manage to draw a bit. Not well but for a person that could not draw at all I am very happy.
I have began to be able to see and that means I am half way to understanding things. Hre is a Red paprika I drew in pastel this weekend
I'll check out that challenge. LOL my only problem is that I want much more spare time to be able to follow all the great challenges and tutorials available. hehe

I started at the age of 44 but it makes no difference.
A day not drawing is a day not lived..
Just keep trying and everyting will work out fine.

I've been very fashinated by chinese ink drawing lately. It so captures the essence of the subject. There are so many wonderful things to study and draw. I look very much forward to the years ahead exploring.

I am too and I found a great book, "The Art of Chinese Brush Painting" by Lucy Wang. Great info and step by step techniques.
