Hello again all,
We have just completed the second and final phase of our server upgrade plan.
As Drawspace is now running with all sorts of new hardware and software behind the scenes, the potential for technical issues is once again very high. We've made every effort to ensure that the upgrade would be as painless as possible, but inevitably with tens of thousands of people using the site daily, one of them will stumble upon something that we've overlooked.

Please report any and all technical issues in this thread, and we will fix them as quickly as possible.
Thank you once again for your patience!
-The Drawspace Team

The images in the weekly drawing challenge forum appear only as thumbnails. If I tried to upload a picture of a drawing it tells me to ask permission from the administrators.

Wow, it's all shiny and new!!!
Problems:
What ElenaM said, and I can't upload a personal photo.

I am also experiencing the error when opening the thumbnails in the forums. It states "sorry, some required files are missing".
On a brighter note, I love the changes to the member gallery.

Feature, Bug or just me? Guest users can not view the gallery but can view the forums.
Error message when viewing the gallery with guest account:
"Sorry, but you do not have permission to use this feature. If you are not logged in, you may do so using the form below if available."
Great update!

"Sorry, some required files are missing, if you intended to view a topic, it's possible that it's been moved or deleted. Please go back and try again."

The problem with image attachments should be resolved now. I believe it may have also resolved all of the gallery issues as well, but I'll wait for community confirmation before making that proclamation.

working good now,

thanks
the only thing is when I copy the copyright symbol it doesn't show with my date and name , instead there is a question mark. It was already happening before this update, but that is not a serious problem.

Hi Warf
I finally managed to get pictures uploaded to both gallery and forum. Took a few goes! The thumbnail I put in the forum opened up OK, but the ones in the opening topic of the challenge forum open up as tiny and you have to stretch them to get full size.

May 19 2008, 10:09 PM
I can open the thumbnails now, although as someone previously mentioned, it opens in a minimized window; but that's ok with me. Thanks for the hard work and great job.

I'm leaving this message for Venus. She said she cannot log in. She purposedly typed the wrong password and it gave her the correct message. but when she puts the correct information in she gets a blank page.

Kaly,
Can you provide me a link to a place where this behaviour is occuring? I believe we can remedy this, but I just want to verify that we're talking about the same thing here.

Looks like it's happening on all attachments that were posted before the upgrade - for example:
http://www.drawspace.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5113All attachments posted after the upgrade seem to be functioning fine.

hello, thank you for responding.
I uploaded this drawing after the upgrade and still it shows a question mark instead of the copyright symbol.

http://www.drawspace.com/forums/index.php?...i&img=22799Hi Kaly,
If you look next to the copyright box you'll notice that it says "use © for the copyright symbol". The copyright symbol isn't a standard character, so you have to use that little code to make one.
Let me know if you have any questions

yes I understand that, all I have to copy is the little code symbol, it worked well before.
I allso tried copying that symbol from "word" and pasting it here, and it allso doesn't work. I'll just use the entire word "copyright" no problem. Thank you.

yes I understand that, all I have to copy is the little code symbol, it worked well before. but don't worry I'll try to insert the symbol another way, I can always copy it from the text processer "WORD", it would just be faster this way, but I'm ok with it. Thank you.
Not quite -
To make the copyright symbol appear you have to actually type (or copy and paste) these six characters: ©
Whenever "©" appears in html, web browsers will replace it with the copyright symbol.
Give it a shot

Is it just on Macs or do the posts have problems with wrapping of the text? Mine is always running off the side of the window and I lose a portion of the words.

I haven't ever seen an answer to this question and I am still having the same problem. Do you all have this problem or is it just my Mac? Is that a technical issue that can be changed?

Barb, I use a Mac, and I don't see a problem like this. I normally use Firefox as a web browser, but I just tried with the Mac default Safari browser, and that works fine too.
Can you make a screenshot and post it here?

That's weird. I can't think of any reason why this would be (unless you've deliberately installed a user stylesheet or some-such, and if you did, I'm sure that'd be the first thing you'd look at.) Is it a reasonably up-to-date version of Firefox? I'm actually still using FireFox 2; maybe you're using 3 and this is a problem specific to that version?

It is version 2.0.0.4
I haven't installed anything - I probably wouldn't even know how or why!

I've looked everywhere I could think to see if there is something that might change it under preferences but I'm at a loss.

Well, 2.0.0.4 is rather old now; it's possible that it's a Firefox bug that's been fixed between then and the current 2.0.0.16 . A quick look at the Firefox site shows that plenty of rendering issues along these lines have been fixed between 2.0.0.4 and 2.0.0.16 .
Choosing "Help | Check for Updates..." in Firefox should lead you to the 2.0.0.16 download.
