I am loosing detail when I upload.....uploaded images appear washed out compared to originals......HELP?

Do you use a scanner? Make sure you're choosing "grayscale" for pencil drawings, and you can try increasing the contrast. I choose 30% increase in contrast when scanning my pics. Hope it helps. --Mindy

Also. keep in mind that some image quality loss is unavoidable when uploading images to Drawspace due to storage capacity concerns on our end. We do plan to review these settings after the rest of our server maintenance is completed, however.

Scanners never provide the same level of resolution that you get in reality.

You need to adjust your image with a graphics editor once you've scanned it, to try to get it as near as possible to your original before posting it. Word of warning: Don't use 'automatic' - it will look terrible. Make your adjustments by hand.
