I decided that I wanted to start learning how to draw, with a potential audience of different online friends. However, I've also noticed that good drawing supplies tend to be rather expensive... So I decided to take one splurge and see how far I can go on just that, purchasing a Wacom Bamboo Fun digital art tablet at the recommendation of a friend. I am hoping to learn much of the basics of art, favoring anime stylings after learning basics of life drawing (at the recommendation of the same friend, for mastering proportions critical to later art), entirely from online sources, my existing experience, and the included software for the tablet (Adobe Photoshop Elements 5 and Corel Painter Essentials 3).
I have registered an account mostly so I can start reading later lessons - one piece at a time to start developing in an angle I'm rather sure that not many people have sought to explore before. I do intend to develop in physical drawing as well after a time - quite simply, I am using the tablet now so that I can easily erase mistakes, and avoid spending money on drawing materials until I feel a little more ready to use them in earnest. (It's also a very fun, if strange, way to play World of Warcraft. Seriously, try it sometime if you're into that game!)
Greetings to the Drawspace community.
