Hi,
3 of my children aged 7, 9 & 11 would like to submit their drawings on this site. Should I create a folder for them under my username, or should they have their own username?

They could submit drawings under your name, provided you're happy for them to do so. Or you could start a children's thread yourself and they could post under that.

There isn't a specific thread for children's art here and perhaps there should be. This may be a good opportunity to start one. However, I'll wait to see what admin says, as I'm not sure if there are age restrictions for registering here.

Thanks for chasing this up. My children are currently drawing images for this site.

My vote is give them their own account. That way they see the work as their own in their own Draw Space. Just because it my opinion don't mean it ain't right...LOL.

Hi Olddad!

This is just wonderful - all three children learning to draw! arts.gif arts.gif arts.gif

This site's gallery welcomes artists of all ages! I personally think it would be great for each child to have his/her very own personal gallery of drawings. Then, each child can proudly share the URL of their online artistic achievements with family and friends.

Wow thanks for the support. I have created 3 seperate folders in my gallery for my children for now.

I think having kids post their drawings only encourages them to draw ...what better way to envolve them in the things we do .. some of the art we produce can be racey so maybe having their own gallery would be fun for them .. or at least put a warning for nudity on the site ...but getting kids in here I think its a great idea .smile.gif

I think its fantastic letting children post there work If they are drawing at an early age and learning from the lessons on this site think what there work will be like in a few years time.

My kids are watching my every step. They always have paper and pencils out. Since I started this they have been trying out the lessons. They will be thrilled to hear that they can have their own gallery. Thanks for thinking to ask olddad. I got a kick out of this one from my 9 year old this evening so I thought I would share it.
It's title is "attack of the evil snowmen".

Hi Paulette4, my son said great drawing, and I liked it also, well done to your 9 year old.
Admin has emailed back, and advised at this stage to upload images into my account, unless they wish to take an active roll on this site. Which I think is fair.
paulette4
Sounds fair to me.
Thank you Paulette

Any time that we can encourage our children to express themselves through a healthy means such as art opens so many doors for them. For children to see the positive feedback that we all enjoy as artist will keep their interest strong. We will all be amazed by the imagination of a child as they explore with a blank canvas.

heres a good website with free online kids arts lessons smile.gif http://www.kinderart.com/

olddad
Thankyou UKARTIST, we checked the site out and it was o.k., but the kids still prefer the drawspace lessons and the art gallery.
We have done a little search ourself and the site you recommened has been the best so far except for this site (Drawspace)

My favorite gift to buy kids is a pad of drawing paper and pencils .. colored and paints .. I always want to encourage them to draw .

I would hold off having your children join untill something can be done with all this obcene spamming that's been happening here recently.

My thoughts exactly. My daugher wants to join and do the lessons, but not right now. Looks like the same person rejoining and posting the same obscene junk. If I can get our printer working mad.gif I'm thinking of going premium then I print them out or download them for her so she wouldn't have to be online to do them.

I allowed my twelve year old daughter to join however I told her to just stick with the lessons for now and stay away from the forum until all the problems with the spamming are solved.
