Here are some pics for this week's drawing challenge. I'll add some more later. I'm out of time. I have to finish doing the brakes on my wife's minivan before she kills me.

Have fun and give it your best shot! Please traditional media only, and preferably pencils (or charcoal) of some type.... although I'd love to see some watercolor, perhaps you could post your results out of this thread for something like that.

Thanks!

As you can see, my daughter and I both worked on the little boy as our first drawings. I think she did a great job!

That's a good sketch. Looking at it carefully I get the impression that he's running to tell his mom he's got a boo-boo. Kind of a sad, concerned look in his eyes, and innocent too. But that's just my view.

Racefan & Bklover, those are both beautiful drawings of the boy's face.

Click to view attachmentHaven't a clue what it is, but I liked the look of it. At least I had no preconceived ideas on what 'it' should look like! This morning, when I came downstairs with no specs on, I thought it looked like the Roman Collisseum!

I decided to go more illustrative this time - I really liked the open petals of these tulips, and all of the wonderful curving/curling leaves.

Oh wow, mom I love how that turned out, it looks pretty cool. biggrin.gif

mumwond, yours is really good, that pic has allot of detail, you captured it well.

Mr ofir, your sketch is really good, I cant do sketches they never look right to me, I am to much of a perfectionist. blush.gif

John, even without mesuring that little boy came out great wink.gif

I tried the tulips too, with soft pastels, this is my first try with soft pastels so be "soft" laugh.gif on me! I don't like what I did with the background, I messed it up sad.gif

Clara - ** I think the tulips are very good..you should just get rid of the background attempt
** Thanks for the comment on the kid, but I should have aborted the thing when I saw it was screwed dry.gif

Frank here. The drawings of the boy and the tulips look good. I have been fiddling with a drawing of the little lad and have to give up and submit it to this forum. I had a hard time seeing the edges and seem to have the ear in the wrong plane, but I couldn't figure out how to turn it back to the head, so...I guess I am done and will try something else.
Malikk
You guys are all so good at drawing!

I'm only 13 so I doubt mine will turn out as good as yours but I'll post mine up in a minute...

Everyone's doing really well with the challenge this week.

I haven't done any of them ohmy.gif just been a bit busy at work and I think the portrait thing has drained me (that and the lousy horse the week before)!!!!

It seems that the child is the winner again this week! Some excellent pieces produced

Keep up the good work - maybe I'll join in again next week
Malikk
I have added my entry for this competition. Hope you like it!
BTW my scanner mucked the shading up a bit sad.gif

Hi Malik, age has nothing to do with drawing good or bad,and you have proved that with your tuplis, well done!

Frank, nice drawing on the kid wink.gif
Malikk
Hehe thank you! I am happier with them on paper, scanners mess all my shading up! :(

How annoying. :P
