I've run into a situation where I would like some recommendations on cleaning stumps. I currently use sand paper, but is there a better way.

Also, is there any recommendation for cleaning chamois? I have one that is covered in charcoal, the covered in graphite and another covered in pastel. I don't want to mix. Is there any advice?

Hi,

I occasionally use sand paper as well for stumps but I find that it leaves them a bit fuzzy and the stump doesn't last as long. So what I do is use a large white eraser and I just rub the stump on it until it's clean. I also use Blu Tack when I just want to take off some of the graphite but not all of it.

For the chamois I just run it through the washing machine. If it is good quality it should come out fine.

Thank you very much for the tip. I'll purchase some blu tack and run my chamois in the washer tonight.

Regards,
