Can manga sketches be introduced, especially about the frames which are used in mangas and how the backgrounds are made by manga artists in their comics( i have always wondered if the backgrounds are computer generated or sketched by the artists themselves!! huh.gif )

I would be interested in any Manga or Anime. A sort of unwritten rule is that you post your original sketch or drawing alongside the finished piece. Have a look at some of the cartoon challenges.

Backgrounds are also called screentones, done with carbon paper in the past but now computer generated. http://psychobob.xepher.net/screentonez/

Hope this has helped

I forgot to mention that the files are plug-ins for photoshop. If you have photoshop all you need to do is place them in the plug in folder which you will find by exploring the Adobe folder group

Hmm... I think that they draw the background themselves most of the time.
There are, however, some that use real backgrounds behind their drawings.

This is all I can offer you at the moment, since I am no expert myself wink.gif

all i know because of reading Manga's and watching Animes is that; each Mangaka or Doushinka has his or her own style of doing things.

For example Eiichiro Oda (the mangaka of One Piece) usually draws the backgrounds comepletly, weither he himself draws them or his assistants i don't know, but they ar usually hand drawn and inked. This is because the setting of the story's play a big part in the storyline. After all he has created a world of his own.

the manga Case Closed, also known as Detective Conan, has alot of tone in it and the backgrounds are usually left very simplistic and limited . The story is very focused on converstation and thoughts so the most of the time the frames are filled with the faces of the characters or bodyparts.(skim through some pages and you'll see)

But as a manga fan you have probably noticed all of this yourself at some point.happy.gif

oh and I second the Idea of manga lessons happy.gif
