Hi all, welcome to Snoopy 101 Simpson's Challenge my name is Brian David your host. Although I am no expert on this....

The Simpson's,

most certainly captures hearts of both young and old and is with out a doubt the longest running animated sitcom of all time. It all started on the Tracy Ullman show as part of a 30 second break in 1987.

One of the many things I love about the Simpson's, that is besides the great humor is the many guest appearance voices by many celebrities. Elizabeth Taylor, Paul McCartney, Johnny Carson and Bob Hope to name a few.

To me the Simpson's is based on a typical American family that every one can relate to, and relate to the issues of the time of the series.

the series and Cartoon was created by the one and only Matt Groening who once said. " as long as there is some one or some thing to make fun of Simpsons episodes will continue to be written".

hmmm I wonder if money has anything to do with it



My Challenge,

simply draw one of the references I have provided below. For those who would like to use their own references please do so, and for those who would like to test their creative side, please create your very own Simpsons Cartoon. You may use any type of medium you like such as ink, marker, graphite, color pencils etc. For those who would like to use their computer for coloring please post your original drawing first, please no computer graphics, all images must be hand drawn.

cool! i love the simpsons...can you believe they have been running so long? and just got another 4 yr season..i am sooo glad...this is my favorite t.v. show..hubby gets annoyed cause i even watch the reruns repeatedly...

Hi kay, I am the same I love reruns I have a few favorite episodes such as the one with Mr. Plow and I love the one where Homer takes the family to New York and Toronto.

Simpson is my favourite TV show and my nephew asked me to draw for him from Magazine cover. These two drawings from January 2008.

Siksno great to see you again, great Bart!!! looks like Homer may have been angry with him.

Kay , have I turned you into a Cartoonist I absolutely love the Bugs you sent me!!! fabulous and now to see Homer screaming love it , put a big smile on my face, love the color and shading also.


My attempt at another and this was very challenging, I think this took me nearly 4 hours from start to finish, I had trouble with Grounds keeper Willie and did some designing with him and Woodstock. My first rough in pencil and 3 erasers , second done with black ink and the third I added color with photo shop.

I used a ref, image for Lisa,and little parts of ref. images for some of the characters, the rest is my idea.

Most days I feel like this fellow, he is one of my favorite Simpsons characters, I did this drawing about 2 years ago and was probably my very first time drawing the Simpson's, I recently colored him and hope to do a few more new drawings soon.

I don't normally cartoon - but after KAy's Disney swap (10 Disney cartoon ATC's done in 2 days - phew!) I thought why not!

But then after seeng the calidre of work here I am almost embarrassed to put mine up - I am not much of a Simpson's fan - I think I prefer the Disneys - oh well here it is a crop of David's swim scene at the beginning:

honestly cartoons give me heaps of trouble - I stop & think too much then the line wavers!

I used to do stuff for kennels that looked like company logos. Then I started to try "real art" - I wanted to do stuff that looked life like - now its really hard to go back!

Here's some of the type of thing (this was my own kennel logo for Daktrax Kennels - when I bred dachshunds)
