Thanks Guys.
What keeeps me going creating on this theme is not my imagination but the real life positions of my hand.
Here is another one. I am currently working on two more positions.

Sue your lil mouse is exactly as he is supposed to be: a lil shy.Nice sketch.
Kay, you underwater drawing is great. Very detailed.
Here I have two positions of my hand holding the tweezers.
THanks to Kay, I had the opportunity to practice real life drawing and study of my hand and these sketches are the base for drawings and even charcoal works. I am very thrilled with the different positions that can be drawn only using one hand.

Kay, nice finish on the sea pic!
Elena, I am beginning to think that you have a pencil permanently attached to your hand! Boy you are prolific and
good!
Well I seem to be stuck in the creature features so I have done a little banded python (not that I have one to pick up) But I am tying to think how to use the Huntsman spider calling my walls home at present (please excuse the web in the pic the huntsman has eaten its creator & when he moves I'll get it down). In case you are wondering he is about 5" in diameter as he is there - perhaps a little bigger when his legs are all spread out.

I used to have arachnophobia Kay.
It was so bad that I used to hyperventilate and pass out! I actually had redbacks under the windowsill outside in a flat I was in years ago & I figured out that even if no-one in the world would help me if I was bitten I would have 48 hours to get to hospital and I could crawl there in that time (that's how irrational I was with spiders). So I slowly started to look at pics in books (I couldn't even do that without feeling nauseous) and from there I just kept doing more & more until now I am OK with them, mind you though I still can't watch the movie Arachnophobia & if I come across one unexpectedly or walk into a web my heart still races irrationally.
But the Huntsmen are the good guys - they eat the mosquitos. If you don't want them in the house they are easy to get rid of by shooing them into a container - they'll just walk into a plastic ice-cream tub if you shoo them with the lid - and you can pop them outside again. My chap has gone out by himself, no mossies and he's eaten the little spiders in here, so he's off looking for more food. And I have swept the cornices to get rid of those recurring webs !!

Thank goodness - so they don't bite? It isn't that I am afraid of the spiders themselves, I just don't want to have one bite me that is poisonous, and we do have some poisonous ones around Nebraska, both black widows and brown recluse. They are both fairly small so one could get to you before you know it if you aren't careful and they like to hide!
I actually really like snakes - particularly the garden snakes that live around my home because they eat spiders!! I watch for them and make sure they don't get run over by the mower and such.

They can bite but they never seem to - they don't build webs and just sit on the wall waiting for something to eat to come by.
We have some nasty spiders but its the snakes I worry about here because we have so many of the world's most poisonous. I went to one of my patient's homes and her son was killing a deadly brown snake on the front verandah. I look
really hard before I get out of the car there now, I can tell you!! We have Red-belly Black Snakes around my place & I am sooo glad, they are not as poisonous or aggressive as the Browns, and they eat baby Brown Snakes so not as many get to grow up,
thank goodness !!Anyway I thought I would try a quick 'scape' with my hands so I did a 5 min bridge sketch, sorry its a little blurry.

Click to view attachmentSue what a wonderfully charged idea your bridge is...i love it..
now that spider topic...we have none poisonous here that i know of in maine..(that I myself have knowledge of) or poisonous snakes either..i have a rock wall here at the house that is loaded with garden snakes andt they are my buddies and i too protect them from the mower..i also get at least one perfect shed snake skin every year..course none longer than say maybe 12 inches..several varieties and all of them gorgeous..before we sold our old farm house up north i painted the exterior..and if there was a spider i would paint around it and when honey got home he took care of the spider then i would finish up painting..mind you these were not little spiders either..they were harmless but huge and ugly with massive bodies that reallllllly grossed me out....i did the drawing lesson here on drawspace with the spider and it was like totally ooooogie to draw..lol..i am sooo silly..

Ha Ha Ha You sound like my mother. I don't smoke but she does. She's 82 and on oxygen. She takes her oxygen off to go in the garage to smoke so she won't blow up.

She said she would probably die from her love of tomatoes and the salmonella.

She won't smoke in public though. Except when I bring her lawn chair and stop in the shade somewhere that she can get out of the car away from her oxygen. Then she will make an exception.) She's soo funny.. gotta love her!!

Too funny you guys! My palliative patients when I first visit glare at me as they smoke & my answer is "Im not about to try & stop you now - too late!" they then relax because even though they are incurable every doctor they talk to tells them they have to quit - my opinion is why? Let them die happy!
But what is all this about salmonella from tomatoes??? Never heard of it??? I suddenly had visions of that terrible "B" Movie 'Attack of the Killer Tomoatoes'
Elena - take aim -
shoot the Muse! - its the only way to escape - I know I have been there before

And Elena, wow you have been busy lady

wonderful scketches.
I just wanted to say something about those...spiders.... I too am not fond of them, I used to be quite afraid of them but never was arachnofophic. here as well here are many spiders, I guess they are all harmless, but even if they don't bite, when they pass over you, or even over your hanging clothes, they can leave some poison and if your skin gets in toutch with it, it provokes these little shiny pimples (irritated skin), and it itches a lot and starts spreading if not treated. I have learned that its easy to cure with garlec, just cut a garlec and rub in all over the iritated skin, do it twice or three times a day, until the pimples dry out and the irritation goes away. Some people here go to the hospital and the doctors perscribe gel or lotion, sometimes even pils, and it doesn't heel it just keeps spreading! There is this old man in my village that makes this special medicin to cure this, with plants, but when someone doesn't have a man like that around, garlec it the best because it cuts off the poison.

Of course I'm not talking about tarantulas or anything like that.

Wow Clara that sounds like some nasty spiders! Fancy being able to get you just by touching your clothes!
We have one called the white-tailed spider which is only little but when it bites it causes the skin to ulcerate and it just keeps spreading - rather like what you describe - but it has to bite you - you've only got to touch yours - way too scary!
Kay, does CNA stand for Certified Nursing Assistant? If so it sounds like what we call an AIN over here whch is an Assistant in Nursing they do what is called a Certificate 3 (I think that's what they do) and help with personal care and such. Along with Enrolled Nurses we couldn't get things done without them!!
