Hi All !!
I was just wondering if anyone here, has had any experience with drawing classes offered by a community college. My local college, is offering a "beginners" class, and I was just curious if it was worth the trouble to take it or not. Any opinions ? I am a newbie here, and to the drawing world too. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks .

Hi Jonsie. Great that you've found some classes to take. Do you know the agenda for the classes yet? That should give you a good idea of what you'll get for your money.

Whether its worth it or not? It depends on a couple of things. One is the teacher, two is you. If a teacher can provide you with the basics and you are interested enough to practice a lot, then yes, its well worth it.

I'd say give it a go. What have you got to lose - besides some money and time?

Thanks for the reply. I don't know any particulars yet, as it's hard to get to talk to the teacher to inquire. Plus, this college, requires you to have a certain level of English skills, (don't know why, cept the money issue), but anyway, they require you to have a certain level of English, which, I probably don't have, and don't have the time to take those in addition to the drawing class, as it would be at night, after work, and I have no other time to take those. I was curious to others opinions, and thank you for yours, (by the way). I guess, I'll probably learn a lot in here, as I am a real newbie, although not in the age department, haha. Well I think your English is very good, so I don't think you should be worried about that. Have a chat to them and also try some other places and see what they offer. Private lessons may be an option too. Hang in there and something that's perfect for you will turn up!

Thanks a bunch for the kind words of encouragement. I know a local "artist", who's work, I've admired for a while, and after you mentioned about private lessons, I think, I'll just give him a call. I do have a question if you don't mind. Where did the little "link" of Jeanette come from, I got to view it briefly, and man, she's GOOOOOOD !! Now, that's what I want to be able to do. Ah the infamous Jeanette !! We meet at last. The first time I visited here, I read about you, and all your contributions to this site. I wondered then, how one person could hold an audience like that. After viewing you work, and especially your words, now I know. It's my guess, your talents are many, and art in only one medium used by you to communicate. I do think also, the best is yet to come. Can't wait to see what lies beneath, which is where your treasure lies also. I perceive you to be a very good judge of people, and you seem to have a take on life such as comes from experience.
