Hi all,

and welcome to Snoopy 101 Bear challenge my name is Brian David your host. Although I am no expert on this....

Yogi Bear,

created by no other then the great Hanna-Barbera studios made his debut in 1958 in the Huckleberry hound show as a supporting character. In 1961, happens to be the year I was born, started of his own show called " The Yogi Bear Show " which also included segments of " Snagglepuss " and " YakkyDoodle ". In 1964 Yogi now had his very own musical animated feature film titled " Hey There It's Yogi Bear "

Like so many characters created by Hanna-Barbera Yogi's mannerisms and personality where based on popular celebrities of the time. " The Honeymooners " Art Carney was said to be Yogi's inspiration and was named after the famed baseball star Yogi Berra.

My Challenge

Simply draw one of the reference pictures I have provided or if you wish you may use your own reference. And for those who would like to test their creative side, please create your very own Cartoon Bear. You may use your computer for text or coloring, but please post your original drawing first. Please no computer graphics, all images must be hand drawn.

After growing up with that name, of course I love Yogi..

I think Yogi plays the field though because he has another girlfriend named Suzie.

As I already mentioned in "Drawing Form Life" topic I'm sick of forcing myself to create perfect drawings. Masterpieces...

So, I did this without any "******" and throwing drawings in my recycle bin.... It has been some time since I last had fun while drawing... I think it shows in this drawing. And, I think, when I don't beat myself for mistakes I do less of them

Thanks Cyn, I did not know Yogi had two girlfriends... ....see Cyn you really are famous... Dr. Seuss also named a character after you... Cindy lou Who....and we can not forget the one and only very new Cartoonist Brian David named one after you....my very own Cyn Kid.

Hi Siksno....great to see you I always look forward to your drawings.....I very much agree with you...I find most artists that truly enjoy what they do and have a passion to draw... always shows in their work....no exception here... Thank you Brian and Audrius.. It was a hurried job. I was trying to do it before I left for the weekend.
It was about 20 minutes, including erasing time.

I started my drawing at 9 in the evening, and thought I would have a nice quite night to draw for the challenges, well guess again!!! my friends came over and confiscated my drawing space, my computer and they even confiscated me!!!!!they stayed until 1.30 in the morning ( not that I complain cause I love to have people around ) anyway I managed to finish my soft pastel drawing after they left, but no strengh to draw for the week challenge (sorry Audrius)Maybe tomorrow they will give me asome rest

not as good as I wanted it to be, like Brian says "its dificult to know where the pastels end is"

So guys are we going pickaniking or what???!!!

What great drawings!! If I ever win that 30 million dollar lottery, I will send you all tickets and we will really meet for that delicious pickanick.

Sorry I haven't been on here lately but that auto accident left me with a pretty bad concussion and my brain hurts. Actually it made me almost blind in one eye and I haven't eaten for about 16 days. And if I go anywhere I have to write it on a notebook or I forget where I am going and have to pull over at the side of the road until I remember. Hopefully it will pass as soon as the brain bruise heals. I am getting better but can't draw yet. Like I said before, life is an adventure. On the bright side, I have lost 18 pounds, I'm back in my skinny clothes, and I no longer need an excuse when I forget things. Ha Ha Ha

I love the Yogi challenge, so I will e checking on these wonderful drawings as I can..

Thanks Brian and Clara! I had alot of fun with that one. I had let drawing get away from me for a while whilst I dealt with life issues, but I am SO glad to be back doing what I love. I can't wait for the next one! Cartoons are my absolute favorite to draw. I'm really glad my internet browsing brought me to this site. I love it! Everyone is so nice, and all the drawings are wonderful. I'm hooked!
