How many time you take to draw across the day/ week?

How many time you spend on your best works?

A quickly draw is always worst than a long time one?

Ps: english is my second language.

I'm speaking from my experience. Clearly this can be very subjective. Time to draw is very relative. It all depends on the subject matter that one is trying to capture. If you are drawing from life, you may have minutes or even seconds. So at best you may have time to capture a contour drawing or and some time to add shading create depth. Then after that, one has to make a choice, does one draw from memory, or does one look at the drawing and becomes satisfied with the creation with the few gestures that were established.

However, if you have an idea or a concept that you are working on, then you have all the time in the world to complete a drawing. It also depends too if you are referring to commission work? Then the artist is making a commitment to the person that is doing the hiring. If you are referring to the later, my approach would be to establish a rough sketch at first to develop the drawing. Perhaps a few thoumb nails of the concept. Perhaps find material that relates to the particular subject. Then one has to figure out what size and even what media would suit for the effect one wants to achieve. With this approach it also depends on confidence as well as planning.

From the idea of developing ones skill or establishing confidence just drawing anything from drawing a figure, still life or even fantasy this takes time and only you as the artist can determine if you are finished. These are my opinons, I'm sure though that there are many artists here that can take completly different spin on this.

Good question.

Well, I'm asking that because I saw beautiful works on net and when I take a look in the artist's comments...

"It take me 60 hours"

And I get impressed. I Never spend so many time in a draw before.

Its important to say that even the quick artists can spend a long time training.

Lancruz: Yeah, that's the question about drawing by life. You can still return to the same place more than once, if you're drawing a landscape, for example. But try to draw a kid...

Black Widow: No, I'm Brazilian. And you?
