yes wayne all is fine..it was close..thanks very much...

when i finally get some time..ack..i have been busy as a one armed paper hanger..when the ol man leaves for months, i clean everything, and use that opportunity to take lots of his stuff to the dump...aint i evil? lol...you never seen such a pack rat..and you know he never misses any of it...lol..oh once in a while he will say, what happened to? and didnt i have? hehehee so i have all that plus his normal chores..you know lawn, animals, etc..

he will be back on the 12th..then i can go back to me..and draw some more..but for some reason i cant do both..i cant work all day and then draw..i am either in one mode or the other..i cant seem to shift gears

Kaly
Hi

Here are the results for my first tries at speed drawing.

I didn't use the exact time that I should, I finished before the 30 minutes, I guess my drawing was not big enough, the paper was very hard...only lines!!!!! I forced myself not to do shadows biggrin.gif

Hi kaly ..
These are really great, it is interesting to see on both the garlic and paper, when you compare the paper sketch of 3 minutes you have started to capture the essential elements of the subject, ignoring all of the information that it is not imprtant.

your 5 minute garlic is a far better drawing than the 25 minute drawing,it is loose flowing, good linework, and yet you have still captured the essential elements, you are starting to see the hidden elements.

Well done,i remember my training with this technique, i must have produced about seventy drawings of shoes and brown paper bags.

Wayneo....These are my three exercises for speed drawing. I do not know how to draw the pad under the shoes and may be next time I will try different position or try other object.

Hi Lily,
Well done, i hope you had fun with the drawings,i find it interesting in the paper the fianal drawing is so much clearer with a definate structure to it.

You have left out all of the detail, that really was not important,in the final garlic drawing you managed to capture more of the shape and the structure.

Shoes are always a little tricky but you have really done well on all three.

Regards Wayneo

Wayneo.. You are right for the garlic, after second garlic drawing I notice that the shape is a bit wrong and I concentrate the shape.

Kaly
