So Ive been working on this car for about 2 months off and on [i have TONS of school... so I work on it whenever possible].
I'm nearing completion, and i was wondering if anybody had any suggestions before i finish it.
I still have a lot of work to do on the wheels, and some parts on the back end of the car, but other than that its pretty much finished.
Though, in my eyes a work is never really "finished" I just finally come to a point and stop arguing with it. haha

I appreciate all and any critiques...

oh, and there is a white smudge on the top of the paper.. thats from my scanner and not on the actual picture.
This was done on stonehenge 8 x 11 paper with derwent pencils 2B & 6B and a B mechanical pencil for fine details.
I did use a reference, and you may see traces of a grid there in the photo [that will be fixed with more shading...].
But I didn't use the grid this time! Even though i did lay it down, i didn't end up using it at all. Im pretty proud of myself haha, i think Ive finally gotten to the point where i can judge fairly well the proportions of things.

Anyway..
thanks for all comments and critiques!

Nice work!

There are some problems with the roundness of the tires; in particular, the rear one has a large flat spot to the bottom rear, and the front one is misshapen in several places. There's also a "point" at the top of the front wheel well. Turning the paper around as you work on the tires might help, as well as just looking at them upside down to get a different perspective. Fixing these small things would go a long way towards making the whole drawing look impressive.

yes, this is my second attempt at a car [my last one was about a year ago] and Ive always found wheels to be extremely hard to draw.
Mostly because of all the intricate details and the exact proportions being crucial to realism. [which is the feel I'm going for in this piece]
Thanks for the suggestions!
they really helped =]

For a few dollars you can buy a plastic "ellipse template:"

the utility of which should be obvious if you like drawing cars!

I actually have one of those!
i hardly ever use it though... only if I'm doing things such as cartoons, or animation.
I find that it makes my drawings "exact"; and if you look at my reference for this car, the proportions on the wheels aren't really exact, because of the perspective. haha which is exactly why wheels are just so hard to draw.

I supposed i should have posted this in my original post but heres my reference:
