In this lesson, you use two point geometric perspective to transform seven vertical lines into seven three dimensional boxes.Two boxes are above the horizon line, two on the horizon line, and three below.

are the two vanishing points you choose just arbitrary? Or is there some way to figure this out? Say I'm trying to draw a real life observation of a box that is on a table in front of me, at an angle. In real life, the two vanishing points might be further apart than can be represented on a single piece of paper. How do we maintain realism?

There are two answers to this problem. 1) You can make your drawing smaller to get the VPs on the page, or 2) You can have you VP off the page. To do this, place you paper on a large table or board and use either a long straight edge or a piece of string!
