Hey All,

I thought it would be nice to share contests that we see come up from time to time. Perhaps it will be in a medium that we are not proficient in, yet someone here may be. Perhaps it is a contest that we ourselves are working on, yet would like to share. While this may be the hardest way for some to get 'critiquing', all of us are here to help along the way.

And who knows, even an HONORABLE MENTION can get your name on the map. Even if you dont make any money, and we all know about that scenario, it certainly gets your foot in the door, AND gives us some experience and exposure with the REAL WORLD of art.

I hope that we can begin to pool resources here to allow all to go 'beyond private sketching'.

While that may not be for everyone, its good sometimes to just jump in the pool, rather than slipping in inch by inch. You know who you are...

There is a list you can subscribe to, cost $15 US, which I think is about $6000 CDN. HOWEVER there is a list at the bottom of juried and other types of art contests.

Prismacolor is seeking artists works, existing or commisioned in Art Stix - no theme, Prismacolor water color pencil - water theme, and Prismacolor graphite - no theme.
Deadline for submission is March 1, 5 pm CT.
This is for contract work with Prismacolor. Perhaps they wish to add artwork to these product boxes like they did with the colored pencil tins.

Thanks for the info on Prismacolor. I went to the site and decided to send a couple of pieces.
I also spent some time in your gallery. You really have some exceptional art. I especially like the one with the little girl drawing.

Tismyself, I went there and read the rules for this and even decided to submit two of my watercolor pictures. Lets keep our fingers crossed its the first time I have ever submitted anything!! I started out with Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils being my first set I purchased and I love them!! I also love my Derwent's but the Prisma's are by far smoother. Thanks for the link!!!
