I went to an introduction to life drawing this Thursday, and we were only four students so had the teacher's undivided attention for the three and a half hours we were drawing. It was great, I learned some new tricks and having a professional look at my work and tell me how to push it further was an awesome opportunity.

Here are some of the best of the evening:

Excellent sketches! I especially like the ones on the toned paper. If there were only one class that I could recommend to people, it would be a life class. It is soooooooooooo good at helping you see form and volume and speeding up your ability to transfer gestures onto paper.

Everyone find a life class today!! smile.gif

Thank you Jeanette! I liked the possibilities of the toned paper as well - using it as the middle tone in the sketch helped make the drawing more three dimensional. There is a life drawing session in the same place every Monday, and I hope to go even if there is no instruction for that one. I love life drawing, and I wholeheartedly join in your recommendations to everyone - life drawing is so rewarding in every way.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing your experience. It will certainly be a good motivator for the rest of us.

That is all there is to it, Jeanette, you are going to have to become a travel teacher and conduct workshops in life drawing! Florida is lovely this time of year.
