Hello Art World... wave.gif

I spent the first week or so since I found this website looking at the lessons and various parts of the gallery. Some of your work is just breathtakingly talented and the lessons are well organized and detailed. Just one major flaw I can see with the web design...

The favorites button is too small! lol

Anyway, I'm a speech instructor who dabbles at drawing, photography, and computer graphics. I sit in on an art class at the local college once a week but have been somewhat lost by the lack of structure and aversion to teaching technique. After a friend said the eyes I drew were flat and lifeless, I jumped online to find a solution to that problem and a place were I could expand my meager skills.

Wow. Drawspace.com was a wonderful find. Hope to learn a lot from the lessons and the work of others. I also uploaded a couple of my drawings, one I finished after coming here and another I did last semester. Please take a moment to peek at them if you have time. I need all the feedback I can get. help.gif

In the meantime, I'm going to be working on Brenda's lessons. (Ack! Homework for me!?)

Glad to be here. cool.gif

Thanks everyone for the replies! I'm looking forward to getting to know you and seeing your work too. I posted a couple of my current pieces so you'd know where I am so far in my drawing.

Just a couple of newbie questions I had on my mind: Is it better to post in-progress/completed lessons in the main gallery or in the lesson-specific forums (as attachments)? And is the "critiques" section for lesson-based work too or other work only?

Thank you in advance for your help. smile.gif

Chalktalk,
I set up a couple of albums, one is pictures from the challenge thread, one is sketches from sketching from life thread, another is my lessons pictures and the other is pictures that I took on for myself. Everybody seems to do it differently. The critique thread is for any work that you want checked out lessons or anything. If you take on a challenge you would post in the challenge thread, same with sketching from life etc. Check out the thread for the secret santa and the gift card exchange. We would love to have you join us.

Chalktalk...welcome to Drawspace!!! Basically You can post whatever you feel like in the works in progress and critque thread that you are working on and need advice with. If you want to post pictures you have done be it lessons or others you can post in your very own gallery that you make as well. This is a great site with great people who give good advice without wanting to hurt your feelings. Hope that helped!! wub.gif
