I'm sittin here working on my Christmas card to post...and my mind went POOF! I had the concept all layed out in my head...got parts of it drawn and now my angles are all skewed for the rest of the pic blink.gif I am so confused now LMAO! Anyone else ever get their pic started and things going great only to have the idea go wrong?

ph34r.gif I think my left brain just ninja'ed my right bigtime.

Pammy,
It looks good to me. That picture alone without adding anything, says Christmas, maybe you can still work with it??
This is the first thing I have done out of my imagination. It's not easy blink.gif I've been sketching up the idea for my card for about a week. You know quick sketches to check shape, shading and layout. I was all set to draw it when I decide to look on the internet for the item in my card, to check how it would reflect light in real life. Well lo and behold Thomas Kinkaid has stolen my original idea! I thought my idea would be different, ha. I was so upset. I wasn't going to do it! I thought on ideas for a new card for about half an hour and came to the conclusion that there was no way in hell that anyone was going to look at my work and think T. K., besides who has time to come up with more than one original idea in any given week!
Good luck with your card.

It happens to all of us Pammy if its any consolation. I think your image looks great so far. What else are you trying to include? I think in this drawing you can fit pretty much anything in there.

But Pammy...how can I tell you this??....the sleigh....its on grass....smile.gif Now coming from way up north, I only see sleighs in the snow... Sleighbells ring are you listening, in the lane SNOW is glistening...

Fill me in on the Georgia Christmas version of a sleigh ride...

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening, in the lane GRASS is glistening... might work...might be a tough sell to the horse pulling it though..

Just pulling your leg, you know. smile.gif I think your sleigh looks wonderful.

Well, duh! Jeanette! Don'cha know we put wheels on our sleighs down south?!! lol Then we call it a "hay" ride instead of a "sleigh" ride!!! The horses don't complain at all & actually prefer it! lol

Pammy, I can only see your thumbnail as the other is so large that it times out on me, but what I can see looks good to me also!

Paulette! You're so funny - better watch out as TK might sue you for copyright infringement! I think you're better than you give yourself credit for being!

laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif Ty got the input...The card is titled Waiting to Get Hitched. I need to make a more late fall early winter feel I thought about trying to add ice and snow in patches..like the sleigh is waiting for the first deep snowfall LOL. And it needs a horse or 2 in the back ground. I had one graphed out ready to transfer and he looks to weird now. I'm wondering if some vauge Horsey shapes in the pasture would work?
I'm adding snow on the mountain as well and snow clouds in the sky if I can get them right. So it will look more like Christmas time.
Oh and Jeanette tongue.gif Sleigh rides here actually happen. We cheat and add little wheels on the runners. Or as J-lynn said we make it a hay ride in a wagon smile.gif It works really well for us since we don't get much snow very often. AND it is supposed to be sittin on gravel;)) NOT the grass...guess it kinda bleneded in to much...Ok definitely time for some ice and snow!

Paulette Hun. I am sure my idea of a sleigh waiting for snow isn't as original as I'd like it to be..but he he he it worked for me. Besides I know the rules say original BUT sometimes original is hard to find. And after seeing your artwork I don't think anyone is gonna doubt your concept and creation biggrin.gif So have at it! I can't wait to see the finished project!!
Katchan
Hello!
Well why don't you add some xmas light on the fence in the back...and um one xmas log with bells and that stuff that you have to kiss poeple with if your under at xmas.. (sorry my English is really bad this morning).. This drawing is really really good!
Pammy
Thanks Katchan. I added some snow to this. I wanted it to be a simple drawing LMBO! It didn't stay simple for long. I am redrawing it as of now and took your advice. This next one will be inked and maybe the lights will add a bit to it. As I have never tried ink this will be a real challenge for me. ( I HOPE a good one)

Thanks for the comments everyone! It is posted as my Christmas card if anyone wants to look at the "finished" graphite version.

Hey!

For your ink make sure you use speedball waterproof ink. After you can use watercolors to them:)

I also use strealer marquers for inking.. the very small ones that say wont fade and drip on paper if water is on them... they have that written on the pen.. the pen is like gray.. bah.. Ill try and get the bran for you out:D
And you know what you dont really need to add full snow, you can add a frost.. if you use acrylics you dry bush everything after you colored everything.
