Full Version: Artistic New Years Resolutions
Drawspace > General > General discussion

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to see if anyone else has a New Years Resolution that has to do with drawspace and or art.

Personally, I'm holding myself to completely one painting a month....
A light resolution, but it's something I can stick to better than weight loss/working out/eating healthy. ^__^

Anyone else have resolutions they'd like to announce???

I would love to be able to draw, sketch, paint, do something artistic each day.
My goal is to improve my skills.
That working out thing would be nice too, Don't hold your breath on that one!
Happy New Year!

Thank you for starting this thread!

I have decided to dedicate myself to drawing for at least an hour each day which shouldn't be hard considering how much time passes once I get started.

Hopefully by the end of the year I will be ready to start learning to draw faces!

No Pressure right? blush.gif

I would like to do birthday pictures for the members of my favorite band and send it to them. Unfortunately, I've missed 2 of their birthdays already! ohmy.gif
Maybe I'll start with the February members..Haha

I think for me, its important to get more organized; i have a painting, a set of angels on commission and trying to start an online comic, so i need to be more disciplined on what i do, i think that will be my new years resolution!

My advice is to do some self portraits using a mirror instead of a photograph because it will give you a better understanding of how light and shadow on a human face work in real 3-D space that you can't really get from a flat 2-D photo.

For me it is to improve on drawing faces and landscapes.

Draw more from life. Improve my drawing accuracy. Do some Bargue drawings (these are the plates which were used to teach drawing in the 19thC art schools.) Explore charcoal as a medium.

dcorc: why, your cat looks really cool !!!
Anyways, I do have a new years resolution. It is, in this starting year, to get much deeper into my art.
Cheers !!!

I know that everyone here would be kind no matter what I posted. I hope though by this time next year I'll have improved enough to be happy with posting my drawings here..

I want my art to improve in general and I want to branch out my subject matter and the techniques I use... I'm going to go to as many life drawing classes as possible and draw draw draw every day biggrin.gif
